berlingo2... no effect on the electronics... basically will just reset the
ECU, the clock (unless there's internal battery) dunno about the odometer
though... no worries... but leaving the car with the battery on for 1
month shouldn't be a problem either... since the berlingo is new n the
battery is new as well... isn't there someone you can leave the car with
to have it started ocassionally? *i volunteer* Big Smile

Hi guys,
i am keeping an eye out for used berlingo. Still very much in the early
stage. Whats the main difference between 1 & 2?, What is this multi
wiring? i also seem to notice every other berling seems to be on its
spare rims/tyre! Can somebody concur with me?

rapwong... Big SmileBig SmileBig SmileBig SmileBig Smile

sorry but couldn't help it... ok... regarding the Berlingo being on
it's "spare" tyre... nopes... that's not true... please understand that
the berlingo does NOT come with ALLOY rims... and it's only got these
alloy looking covers... so i guess as common as it is... it tends to drop
out... funny... never heard anyone say the same thing about the volvo
940... which incidentally also has rim covers that go missing...

multiplex wiring in found in the berlingo 2... main and most obvious
difference is the looks... then comes the multiplex wiring which in
otherwords is called "screw around with my wiring and i won't move/work"
technology... and also "please go to whoever has the proxia to diagnose
problems and get charged a bomb when something goes wrong" technology...
otherwise... everything is all and well... this multiplex wiring is
supposed to resolve of a lot of old issues with wiring... so... since it's
still relatively new in the citroen... not much problems yet... hope there
aren't any problems at all...

vonning,

regarding mentioned above, for problem arise future, sure we need to go
directional and looking for PROXIA tester to resolve all the wiring and
engine problem......does it have any alternative look for outsider (mech)
to repair it???? the repairing cost might be higher.......i believe,
this design is special for the main distributor to "cari makam".

Thanks for the info vonnig
Now does that mean the berlingo 1 has the more conventional wiring and
why did the 2 came with such a complex sounding wiring system? Does the 1
gave a lot of problems in the first place and if so do we have to go to
directional also?

berlingo2... outside guys won't be able to diagnose the electrical
problems... but mechanicals would still be an option... unless that mech
is really rich and can afford a proxia machine.. the cost is as discussed
in the Xsara thread...

rapwong,

yups, the berlingo 1 has the conventional wiring... but the 2 comes with
such wiring called "improvement" to car buyers (errm btw a lot of new
cars like the merc, bmw, etc all come with multiplex already i think...
correct me if i'm wrong)... and called "######ing" by car makers... Big Smile

but multiplex wiring enables a lot of functions in the car like rain
sensors, hazard lights lighting up during emergency/hard braking etc.
