Hi to all sifus,

I'm kinda new here...

I need your opinion and suggestion, which is the best car to choose from;

1-Citroen Berlingo
2-Peugeot Partner
3-Renault Kangoo
4-Toyota Avanza

in terms of luggage space, stability, fuel consumption,pick-up (naik
bukit in full load mode) and comfortness?...other than that, don't really
care (design, make-up)...

Any comment, opinion and suggestions from sifus are much much welcomed :-)
Thanks in advance for you generous help. :-) :-) :-)

Citroen Berlingo & Peugeot Partner just a difference Emblem only, I'm still
looking for that lion logo to replace with my HILL's LogoBig Smile
so, basically is compare wither you want japanese or continental, if you
want want high resale value, low maintenance cost than of cost Japanese
made, but if you insist of handing, space, personal unique taste +
character, and the superb shape outlook, then you can either consider the
used Berlingo or New Kangoo, and from what I know, Kangoo is more
troublesome and problem than Berlingo, and if you really want at to
consider a used Berlingo at good condition and best price. let me know, I
got one to sellSmile

hi ad79,
As Benson said, Citroen Berlingo and Peugeot Partner are the same car. Just
different logo.
If you want a simple, easy to find a workshop and (low maintenance cost),
then go for avanza. I bracket out the "low maintenance cost", because it is
highly depend which part of your car need to maintain. If you talk about
normal engine components, brake pad and accessories. Yes, avanza is lower
cost. But when you talk about air-con maintenance. Then you must check with
the advanza owner who service their aircon before at Toyota Service Center.
Steering oil flushing also quite expensive for avanza.

Meanwhile for Berlingo and Partner, you get a 15,000KM service interval
(must use FULLY Synthetic Engine Oil). Although, the spare part price a bit
on high side. But because of longer service interval you can save up more
on labor charges and you time to wait at service center. So, normal
maintenance cost is also same with avanza. But, when you service you
aircon. Berlingo and Partner aircon is built in with a air-con filter. So,
you are almost no need to service you air-con coil with 10yrs. Until your
air-con coil is too dirty or leaking gas, only need to service it. But,
before owning Citroen and Peugeot car, please do some home work. Find out
where is the good workshop. Where to get the spare part from. Then you
should no problem to own the Citroen and Peugeot car.

Kangoo is almost similar with Berlingo and Partner. The Kangoo seat is more
comfort than berlingo and partner. Just a bit different on outlook, and the
service interval is 10,000KM. But someone drag it to 15,000KM.

Handling and comfort wise... no need to say..... hardly to beat conti car.

My opinion

1-Citroen Berlingo
2-Peugeot Partner

- same build and spec. but if not mistaken if you can get peugeot partner,
you will get your seat cover made by Quicksilver.

3-Renault Kangoo

- no where near berlingo and partner but good rival and maybe easier to
outsource parts.

4-Toyota Avanza

- if you talking about 1.5 avanza, it's better than berlingo and partner
accept at cornering and space.

luggage space,
- berlingo, partner

stability,
- berlingo, partner

fuel consumption,
- avanza

pick-up (naik bukit in full load mode)
- avanza

and comfortness?
- avanza (better NVH than others)

...other than that, don't really
care (design, make-up)...
- up to you, I like berly2

I like to add technology used in the berlingo2
which most of the function control by your speed (speedometer)
- power steering will heavier when you speeding and cornering
- engine timing also control by speedometer
- fuel consumption also control by speedometer
- windscreen wiper speed also control by speedometer
- rear windscreen wiper will auto when you reverse your berly (if you on
front windscreen wiper)

hope this will help you to decide

hi lostkiller,
450km is not bad. It is mainly depend on the traffic condition. If i travel
from Penang->Ipoh->Penang, I can easily get 600KM per tank. Because most of
the time my car is cruising on highway.

Firstly, check you engine oil. Make sure you are using the correct grade of
engine oil. Berlingo should go for Xw40. Lot of authorised workshops, make
a mistake by putting in xw50 engine oil into berlingo. You will feel big
different on engine power when you using wrong grade of engine oil.

Next check your air filter and spark plugs. Please do reset your ECU after
changing the air filter and spark plugs. The the ECU re-learn your engine
timing.

Gear oil, Berlingo is using grade 70~80 gear oil. But hardly get from market.

Also, check your air-con. Make sure the air-con dryer (gas filter) is in
good condition. Blocked dryer will cause engine power lost also.
