That's 1K more than outside. They're only charging 3K+ for a reconditioned gearbox. Don't know about the warranty though.

Dear Chong,

Thanks for the info, one of my friend's ZX auto gear box is nearly kaput, can i have the shop address?, 1K++ really makes a lot of difference if they give the same warranty period as the Directional warranty.

Thanks
Sabri

We have one auto 405 good gearbox at Time Bomb @ RM1,800.00 + installation. You may look at it first and pls mention that the info is from Peugeot Club. Approve

I still find my autogearbox having problem with heavy jerking & vibration after sudden slowdon/stop after heavy acceleration.

Called up EHautolink (LocaTED at Kepong Baru-I think) but asked me to go there for computerised diagnosis. They do have spare autogearbox & will be able to service the gearbox within a day!

Need to check with u guy whether have u ever been to the only available autogearbox specialist in klang Valley? (There is another but in Tampoi, JB-Khang auto...)

Need ur feedback if any one visited any of these speacialists on their pricing and etc.

TQ

Tanhb, I have the same ZX model and year as you do and mine started having this problem only after one and a half years after purchasing it brand new. Initially it did not happen frequently but over time it became worst and worse until gearshift slipped (rough). At one time the gear did not shift up to 4 at all. That's when I decided to send it to Directional Tmn Wahyu. Guys over there were just speculating that it was the valve body and recommend that I change the whole gearbox coz it turned out valve body is more expensive than the gearbox. The funny thing is they never offer to rebuild my gearbox.

Not having enough cash at that time I tried putting 'half-cut' valve body with Wong but the problem persisted.

Finally I gave up I sent my car to EH AUTOLINK. They quoted me 3.5K all in with 6 month warranty. The problem solved but still there is rough shift between 2 and 3. I've informed them and they will cover it under warranty.

Frankly I feel really S*** for having to go through this experience with ZX! And this is not the only problems I had to put with! It's definitely my last Citroen, no matter how good the driving is!

Just my 2 sen worth of thought!

OMG RM3.5K..o dear! Anyway thanks for the info. Seems like I have to continue to push to "N" everytime doing sudden stop!!!

Unless anybody can suggest any other cheap specialist other than timebomb (RM1.8K as suggested by abang K)

tanhb...that's EXACTLY the same what I did hehe. Push to "N" if it's vibrate. But going up speed, no problem..it's smoothly shift. Well don't we have any other solution rather than changing the gearbox?? I'm sure there must be a way..

If you find a way please tell me too cause I also have to wait for any surprise "rain-cheque" to do what sggested by abangK (moreover the bonus time is OVER..hehe)

hmmm... one of the reasons i refuse to own an auto car... is this... alwiz problem...

well... something that you guys should think about it... auto gear etiquette... frequent shifting of the auto gears is not recommended... ie.. N to D (or whatever the letter is) and back... like if u stop at a traffic light... dun shift it out... leave it in D... unless u r gonna be stopped for a long long time and you know it... another thing is dun accelerate and shift into D... or step on the throttle immediately after shifting into D... allow the gear to catch properly before stepping on the throttle... otherwise it would be deemed as gear snatch... when this happens it means that you are trying to move before the car is ready to do so resulting in accelerated wearing of the gears and all it's related parts... so exercise a little patience and change first wait for the pull on the car and then step on the throttle... likewise in reverse gear... take note guys... recommended for extended usage of the auto gears... oh and altho the practice of shoving into "N" is greatly practice... same thing... it dun do the gears any good... right now of course it helps to eliminate judders and such... but this is because it already worn out... not from freeing the gear but mainly from gear snatch... i'm not saying that you guys are the culprits (though could be lar) but there's alwiz a chance somewhere up the line of previous owners someone did all of the above on a regular basis causing it to happen to you now...

Manual gearboxes for sale anyone??? hehehe joking...
