This taxi thing can be good and bad. If a car is used as a taxi, it
implies that it is tough and reliable and that I suppose is a plus point.
On the flip side, the very fact that it is a taxi affects the prestige of
the car concerned.

I was in Munich and took a BMW taxi to the airport. That car had over
500000km on the odometer and was silent, stable and without any rattles of
squeeks.

I have ridden in a BMW minicab in England before Big Smile

I am actually considering a purchase a BMW and I would not dream at this
age to be seen in a Mercedes.

But the toss is between a 320i and an Alfa 147/GT.

Can't decide yet.

But if I did not enjoy driving then I would definately take a Mercedes.
These cars just are engineered in such a way that driver isolation is
key.

But if you ask me which car I rather be chauffered in, then it will be a
Mercedes or a Jaguar.

Audis , well in reality it is nothing more than an upscale VW. It is a
better handler than the Mercedes, but not as good as a BMW.. it rides
much more comfortably than a BMW but not as good as a Mercedes.

Cars that needs to be driven to be enjoyed IMO :
BMW
Alfa

Others are already pedigree sports cars like Porsche etc.

Cars to be driven in or enjoyed for comfort :
Mercedes

All others like Audis/Volvos etc are just something in between.

But most important of all is to buy what one likes.

There are many good continential cars.Usually more money will get u much
better car.Like BMW but the computers in it is a bit complicated to
use.Not much user friendly. The Merc computer is however is very user
friendly.

How about Peugeot/Citroens (PSA cars)?Smile...They are know for good
handling and comfort plus way cheaper then Merc/BMW or Audis. As far as i
know the only lacking they have is less refined interior.

Just check the season 8 episod 5 TopGear. The C6 Citroen comfort level is
way ahed of BMW 5 series.

French cars are rubbish. They don't deserve to be mentioned in the same
breath as BMW & MB.
