Same boring ol question. Go test them both. The diff will be very
apparent. One's sheer driving pleasure, the other other, sheer pleasure
of being driven...Clown

Actually at first, I also have the misconception that Mercedes are for Ah
Pek and "old fashion" compare to BMW but if you look at it properly,
Mercedes has CLKs, SLRs and SLKs and I dont think these are Ah Pek-
looking cars. The nearest comparison is BMW Z cars which imho looks
horrible and lop-sided. Then there are the A-class and B-class which BMW
does not have a similar range.

Unfortunately when we think of Mercedes, we think limousines cars.

no car drives like a BMW (except those exotics)....if you take the car on
Germany Autobahn with speed in excess of 200km/h, you can feel the
difference. Had tested 1,3,5 series, merc C & E class kompressor, Audi A3
sport, A4 sportwagen and A6 both salon and sportwagen (A6 surprisingly is
on par to that of BMW 5 series)....all running on diesel.

Both are cars of quality and luxury. The Merc`s emphasis is on absolute
comfort. In doing so, damping is done to a great extend, perhaps at the
expense of driverability feel. It`s not a bad thing, unless you are the
kind of person who truly enjoys the feel of a car that you drive. This is
where BMW differs, the feel is suburb and hence named `The ultimate
driving machine’. Audi`s have come very close, Alfas are great but
different.
