US model got 2.4l and 2.7l engines and somemore much cheaper at about
USD15-17K. I agree Naza pricing at RM85-90K is damn expensive. DONT BUY
UNLESS PRICE AT RM40K !!!!

Rondo means musical note or something, like Sonata. This is Malaysia so I
don't care what they say.

Maxmok are you OK? The Rondo is hit with 10% import duty and 75% Excise
Duty. The Vios and City have ZERO import duty thanks to CEPT and ZERO
Excise Duty thanks to local content being equal to ASEAN (Thai origin)
content, with the exemption coming from the industrial adjustment fund.

How come Japs can overprice like hell DESPITE having so much exemptions
since the NAP but Malaysians still suck up to them like nobody's business?

kdm, you really need to take a look at the latest Korean cars such as the
Sonata NF, the Elantra, the Optima, and the Rondo. You can even check out
the Spectra 5 or Accent.

Optima engine not smooth? It sounds and feels better than the 2.0 lump used
in the Camry.

Yesterday viewed the car. Yes, I was impressed with the design and built
quality of this car. Compared to Citra 1 (just next to this citra 2), no
way that old version can come close to it. The feel of sitting inside is
totally different (just like sitting in T. Wish) and most import I am able
to sit at 3rd row but slightly short at the legroom. So confirmed, for kid
and lady is not a problem at all. The seat material and the seating
position were another improvement that Korean had really look into it over
the years. The fitting of the dashboard is tight and buttons are well
positioned at the location.

Since no test drive given as close to 7pm, only manage to start the engine
and felt the smoothness of the engine. Understand from the salesman, the
new engine performed 9 ltr/100km.

If the test drive is able to peform well just like T. Wish, I guess this
will be another hit into our market. Well done Naza!

the only physical fault I can find on this MPV is the front

nia seng... what lame design is it? i am sure it doesn't cost them more to
design something nicer... besides the perceived "never ever breakdown"
image of Toyota... another critical factor is many of their models are
good looking

most car buyers go for looks

My friend drove from Rawang to KL ... got 9 litres per 100km!! Actually
8.something but I dare not make that claim so I rounded it up to 9! This
Kia Theta G4KC engine (GEMA/Mitsu 4B11 equivalent) is AMAZING!! Same engine
as in the new Optima.

Yes, apart from resale value, all new generation of hyundai/kia engine is
not more high fuel consumption.

as long as they use the new engine, be it diesel or petrol, they can be
either on par of much better than their japan competitors.

But the problem with them is the perception, all their old engine sucks,
and now in the market, you tell people kia, hyundai, they were like..
shit.. fuel consumption high.

so, it is hyundai/kia job to convince people they are no more high fuel
consumption on all new model, in fact fact, some of the car break records
on fuel consumption.

i just recommend my friend who look for lavina to go see the rondo and give
a try., the first response is.."petrol beh tahan.." "very makan minyak"...
don't even bother to consider..

i believe he's gonna miss out this good car, since he intend to buy the
lavina 1.8

It takes a while to change perception .. dun fault your friend .. eg.
Toyotas = good value.

My hesitation over Rondo is Naza's assembly skills, not the FC. Big Smile
