noodles and pork chop noodles nearby....Will kill 2 birds with one stone!!

heheh, I detect another victim of the upgrade syndrome in the making.

besview, I suggest you check out the broquet malaysian and singapore sites
as all info is there. Much more than what the vendors can tell you. Well I
suppose you can also enjoy mutton at the same time taking a look at that
stick... (thks for the tips on GH/CH)

Wifey took the car for an evening out with friends (while I got stuck with
the little monster - a small price for the stunt I have pulled off today).
She also detected some improvement in performance. My
main need is to get more mileage. The smoother revs and peppier feel
overall is simply a bonus! But be cautioned, we are not talking about jaw
dropping differences, subtle but enough to be obvious. Fuel savings in the
long run is expected to pay off the outlay. (That's how I sell it to my
finance ministerBig Smile

Let us know your decision.

guys, how about tufoil? do you think it will help with mileage besides
greater protection. From the specs and claims, it seemed to be the
equivalent of broquet for motor oil.... You can see the tv promo at
midvaley dyi shop on second floor. You can also do a web search.

well i dont know can contribute few word in here.. as for Broquet
according to Hyundai Club at singapore the gadget did work and abit of
improvement on fuel consumption. The only thing is u have to pay RM800
for this gadget i guess abit expensive.. I used to own a Beta 1 engine
hyundai coupe and i did a few thing to ensure my car wont drink so much
fuel.. for manual car i paid RM20 for 120km and i did a few mod to my
car.. firstly i took out my original air filter box replace a open pod
HKS filter. After replaced my car willing to rev. and smooth 2. Well i
found alots of restriction on the current filter. If u check out some
website they took out the resonator under the filter which able to
improve performance.. this i no idea but i do take out also..

secondly get urself a good spark plug like NGK or Iridium.. well i try
used Splitfire before performance wise emmm ok but can last very long..
the last spark plug brand i used is NGK G-Power platinum kepala keke
performance emm better than splitfire and also can last very long.. cheap
2..

another thing i add in is Listar Power Chamber which able to improved the
car breathing.. i can feel the different before and after installed..

beside that of coz straight flow muffler.. change to 2" inche piping from
the extrator till the end with 1 FGK box and 1 bullet ..

last thing i add in is Apexi S-AFC, i guess u know this thing use for
wat.. to improved performance and can adjust ur car air/fuel. This gadget
need to tune and dyno and after i install i able to gain 13hp from my car
and improve my fuel consumption.. i paid RM1200 dyno and tuning if
compare with Broquet i rather safe money for this but then u need ur car
ECU diagram then only can install this gadget.. i heard this thing very
effective for AUTO car especially on fuel consumption..

well if u interested DIY i give u all this website
http://www.hmaservic...ech/default.asp and u can choose ur car
model and u can complete part in ur car..

good luck

sorry to interrupt a bit..
i'm not a hyundai car owner but i do own a sentra year 2002

from the fuel consumption as ur stated, i found that the elantra is high
in fuel consumption...
my sentra 1.6 auto gives me 350km for RM50( about 37L petrol) for purely
city driving...

for the purely highway driving..i can say it can put a vios into shame..
last time i managed to clock around 600km for RM50( 37L petrol) ....~!!!

no offence to ur hyundai elantra owner though..just here to share my
sentra's fuel consumption.

hi QG16DE

thanks for your insight. no doubt about sentra's fuel performance. Come to
think of - it kelisa's and kancil's etc etc.

Bought the elantra in full knowledge of that. Guess there are other factors
afterall, not fully discussed here - the biggest being value for money.
Also, how much one needs to pay for sentra 1.6?

BTW, is the sentra 1.8 consumption the same as the 1.6? If yes, then good
point. If not, then your point has little relevance as it is comparing
apple to oranges, duck to chicken and ... (That said, I am certain sentra
1.8 consumption will still be comparatively better - but not willing to
foot out the extra $$$'thousands for that.

So, waht to do but to pay a little for improved consumption. I think some
of the elnatra owners are doing 500-550km with a little enhancement - not
too far away from the sentra 1.6's heh? bearing in mind this is a 1.8...
cheers

Hmmm....did you know also that the elantra is some 250 kg heavier than the
sentra hence the consumption?For a car using Hyundai's 1st own engine,that
speaks volumes, not that I have anything against the Sentra. In fact,it was
on my short list when I was car shopping! That accounts for the tremendous
stability coupled with its stiffer than average chassis at high
speeds...floaty feeling? An alien word when it comes to the elantra.

37 l gets you 350 km,you say?Works out to be circa 500 km for 53 l mixed
driving which is the full tank elantra.I touch a tad below figure
consistently save for times when the jams are real teruk!!So,no big deal

hunbeng,

I would'nt go that far to say the elantra's handling is as bad as the
Iswara or the Wira(1.5l I presume as the 1.6 has a different suspension
set up and is pretty impressive!!).I have owned the Iswara 1.3 B4 and I
dare say that it handles a lot worse;drives into corners like a barge!!
Wira 1.6 I still have and i can actually do a back to back comparo hence
my conclusion.

Anyone out there using Eibach springs?

hi tiburon,
thanks for your post. I find it helpful. If one were to go for some of your
suggested mods, but cannot afford all at one shot (certainly for me) - what
would be the best sequence for one-by-one upgrade. Obviously the one with
the biggest bang-for-the-buck should come in first. What do the rest of the
guys think? Btw, my revs are getting more liquid in the nice sort of way...
