Its a matter of demmand & supply and preception. To many people, only Japanese cars are reliable and cheap to maintain and thus, they fetch a high re-sale value and the same goes for National cars. Of course, this notion is not true.
Most continental cars, do not fetch a high re-sale value, except for Mercedes Benz. Some Beemers do fetch good value but depending on model.
The moral of the story is, if you want to buy a good continental car with value for money, buy it second hand. Buyers of new continental cars must be prepared to lose up to 50% within only 3 years.
If you have bought a new continental car, better don't sell it, give it to the wife / gf / children.
