Hi rannatha,
My advice is to but Coty iDSL if ur budget is below 80k, because of safety
features ie. 2 air bags, ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, G-con bodyshell etc.
Accent, if i'm not mistaken no air bags, recently only got abs

Malaysia .. goes in WTO ..... All P1 & P2 will die .. Just like 2 years
ago P1 try to sell satria in Taiwan ...but the price really can compete to
Toyata and Honda all around RM40K even Satria 1.6 sold there around 30K
but compare the accessaries Satria really no fight ...
That's why we only enjoy AFTA at the time being but still kena local Tax
end up nothing ....
I don't know how others think but its look Accent really not worth RM60K+/-
... due to oversea only sell RM40 something .... for me is not worth to
buy Hyundai!

Hyundai Accent actually worth about RM40-45K only.
It is really a good car if sold at that price. But because of import and
excise tax, it is more than 60k. Not very worth it already..but then it
is the only non national car that people can afford, unless you want a
smaller Getz.
If got money, surely Vios and City is better... those cars are worth RM50-
60k but made to cost RM80k above.
At the end of the day, basic cars in this country are considered
luxurious bcos of gahmen protection of ploton....

ABS for what? You will need ABS unless your driving skill are like one of
the CCB unqualify drivers of the 3rd world country?

Hmm...WTO = World Trade Organization. Malaysia is a signatory. So are
most countries except North Korea, Cuba, Iran, etc. You should say, is
Malaysia planning a Free Trade Agreement with USA? The govt here views it
as important because both Singapore and Thailand already have a FTA with
the USA (Singapore with Australia, Japan and New Zealand too). For
economic survival Malaysia must have a FTA with USA, the world`s largest
economy. The Asean Free Trade Area (AFTA) probably will not force the
govt to open our automobile market but a FTA will. We cannot mess or
break promises with the US govt.
The Vios or City are RM40K cars with ABS, dual airbags, CD, etc. in
Thailand. So, for the Accent my guess is its around RM32-35K. Malaysia is
one of (if not THE) most highly taxed automobile markets. The tax should
not be there and the excise duty is not rightfully the govt`s. It is all
due to Proton and the arsehole who forcefully wanted a national car.
