WHY NOT CONSIDER A 97-98 MERZ, W124 SERIES E 220 OR E260,

"PRESENCE", GAYA ADA..
NOT TOO THIRSTY ON HIGH WAY DRIVE, SAFETY FOR SURE ( EXCEPT IF U ATTRACT
PAK SAMUN).

PARTS PLENTY & NOT EX COMPARED TO OTHER CONTI'S

CAN PICK UP BIRDS WHERE EVER U GO..
USED ONES AT RM 65-80K, U SAVE 80K,CAN INVEST LA KAWAN..

Many conti or japs cars can do long trips. But whether
your back can handle the long trips is another thing.
Get a conti with firm supportive seats, German cars are
too hard for asians unless you are a 200 pounder than the
german seats are good. French car seats are more suited
for asians. You will note the difference if you do same day
return trips from KL to S'pore or Alor Setar.

cpywe, good point u have there. Each person have their physical limit but
riding in a good comfy car somehow will give u an added advantage &
reduce fatique. This come from my personal experience riding in Wira &
present car Sentra during long journey. Less tiring due to better NVH.
Getting a Beemer is something that i really do consider but high
maintenance cost kinda put me off. I visited local BMW forum on weekly
basis & the cost they spend on inspection & parts replacement due to
wear/tear is very high IMO. Not very sure about Mercs as local forum not
that active & not much discussion on cost.I'm open to suggestion &
greatly appreciate all your guys inputs so far.

Test drive the Pug 407 or the new C5 the seats are like lounge seats.
Ride comfort and NVH is of high standard. Roadholding is supreme.
Another option is the new Ford Focus. This should be good for outstation
as it is built tough. Furthermore price is 120 -130K new and fully
imported. happy hunting.

Sigh.. choosing a car is not as easy at it seems unless of course u are
filthy rich. Plenty factors to consider b4 dumping hundred over grand for
a 4 wheeler. By the way im 28 this year & hmm don't think i'll be in this
line many years more. Set myself probably 3-4 years b4 move to management
level(hopefully).Back to car, conti cars sounds good. Nobody can question
the build quality but then again only BMW & Mercs seems able to retain
their value over the years. Any other conti car owners wanna share the
ups/downs of owning one?

If all you want is comfort there are so many choices on the secondhand
market. Pick any of the early to mid 90s luxury cars and you won't go
wrong.

RM40k will get you a 1995 Audi A6 2.6. Spend another RM10k to change all
the worn parts and all fluids. For RM50k, you could have a car that is as
good as new that will let you cruise all day comfortably.

Repairs sound expensive when they are done piecemeal. Do all the repairs
at the beginning and treat it as part of the acquisition cost of the
vehicle and it won't seem so bad. And don't use the dealers for service
work, they're expensive. Get to know your car and use you local mechanic
but supervise them.

If good seats is what you're looking for, get a volvo. They have the best
seats, even on a 10 years old volvo. BMW seats are stiffer. Merc Ok but
not as good as a volvo.

If u prefer relaxing highway cruiser, then u really ought to get
Continental car.

During town driving, it makes no difference between a Jap or Conti, in
fact, most plp prefer Jap due to plentiful of gadgets to play with.

I've been riding on my friend's accord/camry, pretty relaxing during
highway.

Until u sit into a continental model, the ride + comfort changed
dramatically
