Hi bros,

What u guys reckon the best car for long distance travelling on regular
basis? Good FC, stable on high speed, comfy & reliable work horse.. The
reason is im getting a new job that requires me to travel extensively
throughout peninsular. Presenty im driving NIssan Sentra 1.8A XGL. Budget
around RM160k.. thanks for your inputs.

My general rule 1. Get the biggest or heaviest car possible for more
relaxed driving.

General rule 2. Get a conti instead of Jap.

Get a conti instead of a Jap

But if you insist on a Jap for some perverse reason, then make sure it's a
Lexus.

Best bet if you want to spend 160K, then get a second hand 3-series. Great
work horse. Had travel extensively on that car before, roughly 200km each
working day (long distance drive up and down highway). Comfort, no stress,
enough grunt to handle around and you arrive looking better hehe.

Now I just drive a Kenari for my long distance run, cheaper, GREAT FC!,
more menueverable and less expensive if get knock around. So it's a far cry
from the 3er but so far I haven't been exhausted in a kenari yet. Besides I
sold the old beemer for a new car, so sayang a bit lah to drive the new car
as a work car.

Interesting point u both have there.. Conti instead of Japs but extensive
travelling would resulted in higher mileage which would increase the
frequency of wear & tear & services.. Hehe maybe i left out maintenance
cost issue. On serious note though, i would rather stick with Japs. Cant
imagine the look of my new boss if he saw me in Beemer :P I will put
comfy at highest priority follow by reliable & FC. ANy suggestions? tahnks

For budget RM160K only ,

- If you wanna a chicks puller car go for the Mazda 6(Jap`s engine ,
German`s handling)......

- another highly reliable car(2nd to Lexus in JD Power ranking) is the
Skoda Superb 200 .

Others especially CKD will be too common and too ah pek ......

Long distance comfort get a 3 liter Cefiro... picture a car cruising at
110kph at just 1700rpm... but design may not suit everyones taste... too
bland somehow...

Camry.

BMW would be a weird choice cos of the possibility of breakdowns happenning
often.

Continentals are comfortable but are not that reliable.
