RM90kish would get you a 98 Wrx Sti.
2001 celica/MRS is 130k, both are fun to drive but...er not fast
130k can also get you a new 147 1.6
113k can get you a new 2.0 Ford RS

idea of fun?
practical fast car~sports compact car (4 door, boot) as what DT2001 kindly has mentioned.
however fuel consumtion may be heavier than normal saloon.
practical sports car: 206 cabrio, miata (later model) , u can`t do wrong. as they are easy , trouble
free as a soda pop.
unpractical sports car~MR-S. mind you I have one. let me quote some friends of mine in US:
I will not clutter your judgment by my comments (but i`m happy to share my fellow enthusiast
from oversea`s comments) I have already converted one chap (He bought both S2K and the MR-S)
~true case locally.
why do you think, a Miata is way more popular car, than the MRS? [/
quote]
Besides some of the reasons others have already mentioned, for the average
consumer the Miata is a much better car. It is far more refined than the Spyder, is built a lot
better than the Spyder, and most would argue it is way more reliable than the Spyder. I owned a
1990 Miata and sold it with 160,000 miles on the odo. It was the best car I`ve ever owned. The
only thing I ever had to do to it was replace the struts and plug wires. Without a doubt, the Miata
is one of the most important sports cars to ever touch American soil. It seems many people
don`t realize it`s significance in the realm of the modern day roadster. Without it, I doubt any of
us would be sitting here typing away on Spyderchat. There would be no Spyder.
BUT, as great a car as the Miata is, I would never in a million years give up my Spyder for another
one. There is just something about the Spyder that no other car can offer.
Ok, even though these two cars are competitors, they`re only similar because of price and the
fact it`s a roadster.
The Miata and Mr2 have a few VERY different factors that could cause someone to choose.
1. Trunk space: The miata simply has more, simple.
2. Front Engine, Mid Engine- It`s a whole different experience some might not like.(Too exotic)
3. Miata`s are more common, they advertise them selfs. 12 years of being the "best" roadster.
4. The Miata has A LOT of repeat buyers. It`s been around for 14 years! People have had a lot of
time to think about it.
There`s really nothing wrong with a Miata. Compared to a Spyder, the
engines are built to last and they have some trunk space. I just got bored with mine and
wanted something you don`t see all the time, plus I prefer the midengine layout and a little more
elbow and leg room than a Miata can offer. I also think the Spyder is more sculpturally
interesting.
If have no regrets on any car decision (buy, sell, or trade) except an ancient one (SAAB). My last
car was an Acura (3.0 CL) -- great service, great reliability, but not very exciting. Someday I`d
like to have something like a Boxster.
err, if you want monsterous speed choose a supra, EVO, scobby, alteeza.
if you like the idea of an unpractical sports fun car,........
::we do meet up occationally (Spyder owners) and this weekend the 'TURBO' MRS's will be in KL.::

surprisingly my Altezza is giving me apprx. 10-11km/liter within 3k rpm
most of the time - that's about 530-550km for a 50+liter refill, not bad
ah.

That yellow Altezza belongs to the Wing Hin boss. His reg is quite nice:
WAP 8.
It's fitted with Neo Customized bumper. RM 11K for the whole body kit i

and a spoiler. and also tail light covers.
