Barney83,

dont compare with Ozzie college students. You can find a clean chasis but
trashed up engine Silvia in oz for AUD 20K. Here, the equivalent Silvia
is 90K++ if you are even lucky to find one. If you earn RM2500, think how
much you can buy compared with an Ozzie earning AUD2000 only - very little.

S15 Silvia is out of your reach unless your parents buy it for you. I
have several colleges near me and I see college students driving 200-300K
sportscar and I envy. But if I were them, I'd buy a house.

Live your dream by keeping your mind on it. Go motorsports shows, do
research, build your database and knowledge about the car and its
internals, learn how to drive well. And wait. All good things to those
who wait.

FYI, most sportscar owner who didnt get their parents to buy for them are
relatively older than 23. Or they own cars that are more affordable -
like Hondas. Of course, it doesnt include the massive number of rich kids
in their ER34s, Evos, Subarus, S15s, Supras and the like.

Cheers and dont stop dreaming

u need to down more... i had to down 70k before i got my DC5 out... its
crazy but at least my monthly payment is very low n doesnt affect the cash
flow... if u down 20k only then u need a basic monthly of around 5-6k...
silvia is turbo thus u will have to prepare for more maintenance... go get
a 99 DC2...
easy to maintain bro...

For a self-eared monthly salary of RM2.5k, actually nothing much u can do
nowadays. Maintenance a turbo car (in term of FC etc) is definitely need
EXTRA $$$, other than paying monthly installment.

As for me, to be frank... even with my current net pay of >7k monthly,
which technically at any time enable & allow me to buy most of the
expensive cars, i`m still thinking 100x whether to buy JDM turbo cars or
not here in our country. Of course the main reason is due to the car
overprice (due to the tax structure) & daily maintenance.

Better save your $$$ for your future living & career advancement, since
you are still young. hehehe

I remember at 22 , i wasnt even thinking of buying a car 4times my annual salary. i err lunging
around in a old morris minor. & that was in 1990+.
