rfbu,

The Fairlady Z is a beauty (well to me) till date. My family had owned
most of the previous models from 240Z till the 300ZX Twin turbo and I do
not see the 350Z coming into the picture as its too pricey in Malaysia and
the quality had deteriorated due to cost savings.

There are two different models of the 300ZX, one is the Z31 '83-89 and the
latter, Z32 '89-99. I presume he is interested in the Z32. Why dont you e-
mail me and i shall reply you with the specs?

Notiguy,

Is is very rare to see the 200zx, 240, 260zx on malaysia road. but i do
notice that some are park in workshop to rot due to some reasons. I am
particularly confused with the silvia series and the 180zx, 200zx etc..care
to enlighten me a bit? many thanx in advance Blush

motorfreak,

first of all, the Silvia and Fairlady Z are different range of 'sports
car' from Nissan. Among these two, the main one that hit the US market by
storm (during the 80s & 90s) were the Zs and those that hit it in asian
countries was the so called 'smaller brother', the Silvia (known in Japan)
and 180SX/200SX/240SX (in US)else where.

The Zs started off with the 240Z, then the 260Z, late '70s-early 80s
280Z/ZX, '84-89 Z31 300ZX/300ZX Twin-Turbo, '89-99 Z32 300ZX/300ZX Twin
Turbo and now the current Z33 350Z. I do not know why they are parked to
rot in workshops but i would guess mainly on the hefty roadtax of the car
or it is going to be race prepared for classic cars race.

Am not too familiar with the Silvia's but i only know that the S13 has two
different models, S13 and the RPS13 (pop up light, aka fei kai), S14 (pre
& shark face lifted) and the current discontinued S15. The S13 comes with
various engine, CA18DE (NA), CA18DET and later models come with
SR20DE/DET. The S14 and S15 uses the same engine block (SR20DE/DET) and
various improvements had been made from earlier models till date the S15
which comes with 6spgbox, ball-bearing turbine, etc.

In the US, the Silvia is more popularly known as the 180SX,200SX and 240SX
and the first three number denotes the capacity of the car. The JDM S15
never did make it to the shores of US. (could be emission factor, not sure)

If you're interested to know more bout the Silvia's, do check it out at
www.zerotohundred.com under the NISSAN forum. There are a lot of experts
there that are willing to assist.
