I have tried searching existing threads but did not find any on the Nissan
Fairlady 300Z, late 80's to early 90's model. Would appreciate help from
anyone who knows this car well:
(1) Do insurance companies impose heavy loading on the premiums for these
cars?
(2) Are wear-and-tear parts still available with relative ease?
(3) Is the turbo any less-reliable than the normally aspirated version?
(4) Does the 2-seater handle better or the 2+2?
Many thanks!!

Well well well...finally someone who talks bout this fairlady... hahaha...
okay....
1) a little extra, but with 55% NCB, it doesnt hurt at all.
2) used to have problems obtaining it, but eversince 1999, have no problem
seeking it till date.
3) I do not think so, it all depends on the owner itself. If you take care
of it, nothing will happen, if you dont, prepare to spend....
4) Sorry, havent tried the 2seater.... the 2+2 is wonderful enough...

NoTiGuY - hey thanks man .... sorry I had not checked in on this thread
for a few days now as I was on the road ..... I think this is a wonderful-
looking car and yes, I was very surprised that I did not find much on it
on the Forum.
I wonder whether you know whether there are more turbo-versions on our
roads or the normal ones??
Why is 1999 significant for this car? Final question - do you own one
yourself?

Equalizer1,
dont mention it. well to me, its still a good looking car and the only
setback of this car would be because of the heavier roadtax
compared to normal cars.
If I'm not mistaken, there are more turbo version in Malaysia (auto
tranny) compared to no-turbo version. Secondly, I do not think buying
a non-turbo version would be wise as i think its slightly
underpowered for a 1.5tonne car.
1999 because there are more importers of car parts these days
compared to the years before as parts were kind of hard to obtain
with no importers importing parts for this car.
Before 1999, I used to get parts via Aerotech and Tan Chong Nissan
to purchase the parts.
Final answer, yes i have one and used to own every Z series since
240Z and the only thing now is that I cant afford the Z33....

NoTiGuY - you sure do sound like someone who loves his toy, and I
understand every bit of it!! Frankly, I do not think Japan has been able
to come up with anything that looks this great, even till today. I would
really love to have a yellow one - one day!!

Equalizer1,
Well I love my Z very much indeed, but after having it for 9 years and
hardly using it, i think its wiser to let it go to someone who appreciates
it and will use it more frequent than i do.
Well to me, the most outstanding original colour for this car would be
silver.... find it classy.

Hey, you are MEAN - trying to tempt me!! Hahahhaa!! Could you put
up a photo here please?? Yes, silver is beautiful too - an understated
colour, classy without being flashy .....
I did see a silver one, parked at Saujana Subang recently - wonder if
that's yours?? Corner house.

forum, dont wish to get unwanted dents/scratches or whatsoever in
future...
nopers.. the car i'm driving has left KL/S'gor nine years ago and its
with me in Penang. Anyway, i wished that i was living in KL with the
car cos at least i get to use my car more often... did and done only
29k kilometres in 9 years........
