can anyone recommend me a decent shop that does intercooler installation
(eg. sells (maybe), intall, piping, the lot)? i mean, not just any exhaust
shop.. i need someone who knows what they're doing, good track record,
especially on skylines.. thanks

Go to Jaafar lah. Pay a fair bit more but his workmanship is good. So,
you bought yourself a Skyline eh? Which model? GTs, GTR?

no, i'm asking for a friend.. it's a gts.. rb25det.. automatic.. not for
racing.. hehe.. i think most of you guys like manuals? but it's a damn
quick car for an automatic.. i like automatics myself..

he just bought it.. won't tell how much.. looking for a reliable
mechanic/tuning shop for his skyline. but currently he's looking for a
bigger intercooler..

so, where is this jaafar? address? what's the name of the shop? thanks

wastegate, check the turbo fisrt.
I know original is small.
U hv to check the turbo size and the boasting pressure. If is smaller
turbo and boast in low pressure, I suggest dun simply go for big
intercooler due to power lack at the low end. It happens often, ppl
complain after installing a big IC.

Check with ur freind first.

One salesman quote to me the 25GTS at RM135k.

thanks moppy.. i think you meant boost hehe..

the car is standard, except for:
1) 3" exhaust all the way
2) blitz sus air filter
3) turbosmart boost controller
4) hks mech boost gauge

currently set at 0.6bar with factory intercooler (tiny). wanna go up to
0.9bar; should be ok with factory turbo, but need larger intercooler to
cope with the power.

rm135k for gts25t is ok.. what year? auto/manual?

u r welcome..

well, if 0.9bar get an ARC or HKS type. Cost for new is about RM4.5k

It's manual and auto, same price. year 94.

If u using boost controller, pls remap ur fuel management, I highly
recommended. Since 2.5 lit. boosting at 50% from original, I'm afraid fuel
to supply is not enough. Some cars ECU may allow to boost a little higher,
but I am not good into RB's engine. Please check carefully.. ur friend dun
want to blow his engine away isn;t it.
