same like a vios lap fast-fast in fast lane , before vios come ,
a savvy change from left to fast lane , the accelerate speed is slow ,
so got a vios flash and savvy cannot do anything and change back slow
lane.

Thank God they didn't give the Savvy a higher top speed. Otherwise
Evo/WRX/Type-R drivers dunno where to hide face on the highway.

guy, I am interested to get another unit of all out performance car. But
what i had seen from what you guys written, the Evo at 230-250kmh is not
that impressive leh, coz those guys in alfa forum claimed that their
1.6lt alfa can even hit a high of 220kmh, and still going. And if they
did not forgot to their b.a.l.l.s on that day, they can hit higher and
easily tapao the beemer and Evo too. And those on higher cc alfa also
claimed that they can easily hit 260kmh. I guess their speed indicator
have a 300kmh indication......heeee.....heeee.......

And when I looked in their alfa forum (another forum differently from the
autoworld), they claimed that they can easily tapao so many cars, right
from beemer, merc, volvo, RX 8, Evos, STi, and Caldina. Fuuiyoooh, the
alfa really so powerful wan meh? And some claimed that their car was in
stock mode when all this tapaoing happened.

So the question now is I am really confused and reconsidering my
intention to go for a Jap sports car.....now, I am also considering Alfa
liao. My intention on this buy is to have an all out performance car (off
course, I cant afford porsche, ferrari and all those exotic types lah).

Guys, you advise please.

Guys,
My ride is Celica 1999/2003 Gen 7th Celica TRD, VVTL-I engine, 4-speed
Tiptronic,
1799cc, Metalic Black.
I`ve been honeymoon with it for about a weeks. But 1 thing I quite
curious about the car. It can go very easy from immobilize to 140kph,
however it will started to crawl when I reached 150kph. Is it
because of the speed limiter?

KungFu, speed limiter is not an acceleration limiter. The new Celica and
even MRS were not designed as tyre burners like their older brothers. IMO,
the new Celica is more for style and coolness while the MRS has great
handling.

The slow acceleration may also be due to your automatic gearbox.

Back to the top speed question, I don't think it's really safe for most
Japanese sports cars to go above 240km/h due to their light weight and
less rigid bodyshells. Mass goes a long way for high speed stability and
the Japs just don't have that.

i was shocked the fiat coupe turbo stated the top speed is 270km/h

normally in my magazine stated 220km/h the coupe turbo plus edition.

even thou it is not in production and stopped in 2000.

i will considered it .
i also saw the silvia 2.0 turbo , 250km/h top speed ,250bhp,
but i won't think about it b'coz i saw video
old round light impreza wrx can accelerate faster and more far than the
silvia.

Top speed is meaningless. Whats more important is how fast you get
there. And Evos are among the fastest.
