hi all you car enthusiasts in the forum
am thinking of getting a celica, circa 2003 or 2004. after reading all
your postings and comments, i've somewhat narrowed it down to the vvtl-i
gts model.
hv heard so many horror stories abt 2nd hand cars, i'm a bit jittery but
was told that recon cars are safer? anyway, i've pretty much set my mind
on a celica and no way i have the moolah for a brand new one.
wld appreciate any advise i can get abt where to get car (besides naza,
any other trusted places), what i shld be looking out for during
inspection etc. also, any trusted mechanics to recommend?

There are two cars for sale in Subang. One private, one dealer.
Will advise number soon, unless someone does so in the mean time.

can we get the dealer's auction sheet for cars that came in/ recon from Japan?
in the UK its very transparent as the seller will provide this. u can see
whether its Grade A 5.0 the best or grade R for repaired etc

i dont think so. even UK shipped here, you wont see that history sheet. mostly it because they
dont want you to see the "bid" price & secured bid amount.
what you probably see is the "declared" amount ; taxs paid to customs, etc when you have
bought that car

i've bought cars from the uk as well as japan, honestly i feel that cars
from japan are in much better shape than the ones from uk..cars in japan
involved in accidents would always be scrapped unlike in the uk..plus i
think the japs are more honest with customers when it come to doing business..

There is one silver Celica with Penang number plate available from
Intercontinental Autos. I havent had the chance to check it up carefully
but the exterior and the cabin seems ok. The engine condition is unknown.

Someone please get that car out of the sun.
Interconti is next to Alliance Bank in Subang Jaya SS15, directly
opposite Subang Parade.

hey thanks guys.
i went ahead and just got the car from a dealer, i got so fed up dealing
with naza and their ever changing stories and car prices! it's not my
ideal car and need to make some changes, but better than no car.
i'll be back asking for more help and info... watch this space
