coolznick bro...hee...hee...sorry for the alet reply....just came back
from overseas....been away for 10 days liao....haa....haa....

Anyway....am fine....got a slight flu due to the freezing weather in
China....well....we dont have any official website for Caldina
yet....just that currently....we are "parking" our Cald interest in the
Wish club forum....hee..hee...coz we are also Wish owners mah.,..share
share a bit loh.....heeee.....

Well....while I was away...left my car at the workshop to make customized
exhaust (twin tail pipe)...fully de-catted right from the down pipe to
the back....and then for installation of HKS ECU.....and wooow....an
increased of whopping 40 horses dyno on wheel leh bro... Big Smile......ori
stock bhp on wheel is about 185 bhp...and torque about 280 nm....but
after all the above mod.....now is 227bhp on wheel and 320nm of
torque...and the car is running much leaner now too....at 11.5 average
air/fuel ratio when on full boost and tekan all the way...thus...creating
better combustion meaning better power and better fuel economy now...off
course...its nothing comparing to an Evo 8 or 9, but I personally think
that its quite commendable as this Caldina is an auto version.......am
enjoying every minute of my ride....see ya bro...and cheers..... Big Smile

rick bro.....got it from N1. Cost me RM 2800.00.....installation and dyno
tuning......but bro...my advise to you is that before you install the
ECU....first...you need to install a boost controller...without this
gadget....you will not gain much from adding the ECU......can always get
a second hand set....cost about RM 500 per set....new will cost about RM
1200 to RM 3000 depending on the brand and function...hee...hee...the
Blitz I Color is very nice.....about RM 3K leh....I am using a second
hand set from Blitz......cost me about RM 500 + RM 100 for installation
and hoses.....secondly.... go take out all the catalytic converters from
the exhaust system first....remember Sam...one of our Cald member.....he
installed without decatting the system....so....ended up very difficult
to tune the car....coz during dyno...the car is jerking at the top end
power...not smooth and consistent....and also...the power gain is also
very low...only gained about 15 horses....I advised him to decat the
exhaust (like mine) and retune the car.....woow....the gained increase to
about 30 horses....his gain is lower than mine coz as you
know....different car perform differently (even thou its the same
generic)....normally a variation of 5% differences....and bro...when you
wanna go wor....call me lah...if I available.....I go there kaypo
kaypo.........Big Smile

coolznick bro.....the ECU cost me about RM 2800....installation + dyno
tune......its actually a piggyback...not stand alone.......so far so
good....no memory effect on my car....and as mentioned...happy with the
power gained.....and at the same time...happy with the increase mileage
due to the car running leaner now....I used to get about 170-190kmh for
every half tank of fuel....but lately....I had been chalking up 220-
250kmh for half tank of fuel....isnt that great....right....!!...more
power+torque+improved fuel consumption....

Current market price for 2002 GT4 shall be around RM170-175K....depends
on the accs and also...how you nego lor......hee...hee...

Well....as for top speed....sooo far....i had whacked my Cald to 255
kmh/hour...recorded on my RSM..and there are still power coming
in....just that I dared not tekan somemore loh....once I was on the
highway to the North....did some fun driving with a STI....325I....and VW
GTI Turbo......hee...hee....the STI did a great job on gear kickdown...so
does the GTI Turbo....but on high.....my Cald overtook both of them...the
325I was a real good contender...although its NA....but still very "keng"
leh......he is not too far away from me and the STI and VW
GTI....following closely at about 50M distance....but when I hit the high
of 244kmh.....the STI could not catch up with me.....the VW GTI was real
close but losing sight of me....probably he had also hit his limit high
of 220kmh and I think the 325I gave up the chase and slowed down
leh......well....I would not do that again....hee...hee..dangerous loh....

Well......as for pics....do have some...will send to you....OK....

I am only a "ta kung chai".....hee...heee....in chemical related
industries.....and I am involved in Asia region work....sooo....need to
travel very frequently lor.....but with internet and email....can always
get online wan...right....anyway bro....see ya.......cheers....Smile

really appreciate dat. Seems like this Cald can beat top car man, no joke.
I'm very enjoying ur story on the road wiv those cars. Clad can beat STi??
Wow!! Dats something incredible...325i i dun think is powerful as the
Cald, STi o even the GTi. I like GTi so much too but costly...how much u
get in the meter there while u race wiv those cars?
Bro, i dun really get wat u means in FC stuff, wat u mean by half tank 4
chalking up 2 220kmh-250kmh? But how far u can run in KM? Tell me more
bro...thx. This is 1 of my dream car...once i own it, i hardly sell it off
unless i face many prob wiv it. I think normally not much prob wiv this
car, is it? Hey bro, i'm waiting 4 ur babe pic, dun 4get 2 send 2 me. I'm
waiting n thx bro...hv ur nice day n cheerz alwiz...Wink

Bro....as mentioned....got a record of 244kmh on my RSM......Big Smile...on
the FC part...sorry bro...typo error....what I meant were that
normally...I can only get about somewhere 180kms for half tank of
fuel....but after installing the piggy back....running leaner now...can
get somewhere 220 kms for half tank of fuel....sooo...improved fuel
consumption....

Sooo far....no any problem with my Cald....not sure bout the rest of the
Cald owners......

By the way.....pics sent to you liao.....cheers........Cool

bro wishgialla,

the guy where we install the RSM, he has the computer to troubleshoot the
ECU is it? my ABS and brakelight is on again?

Any idea?

Anyway just got back from JB, got my RSM recorded at 213km/hr, can go
further but due to traffic congestion, better not.

Alright, when are we going to catchup for our next TT?

Sam, is not in this forum, pls send my regards to him.

Running leaner is dangerous, especially for a turbo car. Pre-detonation
could give you a blown piston in the long run. If you need an MBC after
the piggy-back, you might be conned, unless the piggy back is really to
cater for a higher boost and better (richer) fueling due to the higher
boost pressure created by the MBC. Hope you get what I mean in this egg-
before-the-chicken story.

Are the cars auto or manual ? Auto cars are more difficult to dyno and
most of the engine's ECU is mated to the transmission. With a higher
transmission load, the engine output differs. So it depends also on how
good the dyno system is to see a real gain in HP. As for the
cat.converter, which retricts top speed or HP gain, the autos still need
a back pressure for the ECU/Gearbox to function perfectly.

Wishgialla, what colour is yours ? Wilayah plate ? I don't mind meeting
you along NSHW one of these days Big Smile
