The 7th Gen Celica looks like a RC car. Also, 1.8 VVTi for a "sport car"??
This is a joke IMO. The previous 3S-GTE is much better than that.

Due to emission control in Japan, the turbo will stop production in stock

what's wrong with variable valve timing technology? Making 180ps from 1.8-
litres through the NA route is respectable, something many manufacturers
still cannot achieve. Many focused sports cars like the Integra Type-R is
also using i-VTEC technology. Using turbo's is out-of-fashion and will not
meet many upcoming emissions control laws in many countries.

The engines are different. MR-S engine produces less power -- I believe
it doesn't vary the lift (the Celica's Yamaha-designed engine uses VVTLi).

I think that's one of the biggest criticisms of the MR-S -- it's
underpowered. But I believe the Celica's engine bolts right in? Too bad
Toyota's gear ratios are messed up. Would be pretty cool to drive an MR
car with ~190PS and a true sequential gearbox.

Too bad I hate Toyotas lol
