recently i've read a book in POPULAR bookstore, about "everything you
should know about the basic maintenance of a car". i saw a page
mentioning about how to clean the engine of the car. it says that i
should cover the carburator with plastic bag. is there any other parts
that i should cover before spraying the engine with water in order to
clean it? or should i get "engine degreaser"? and where can i get cheap
and good quality and reliable engine degreaser?

very informative website. thanks. can't wait to clean my engine now!! xDDD

but i wonder which parts should be covered and protected before i start
using the degreaser? hope someone could tell me. thanks. xDDDDD

perhaps i'll use the aluminium foil, and the parts that i know that
requires coverings is:

1. battery (maybe i remove it - negative terminal 1st then positive
terminal)
2. water reservoir for radiator (perhaps i try to remove this too)
3. spark plugs area (i'll cover it with aluminium foils.)
4. fuse compartments (located at the bottom left, behind the battery)
5. any other parts that u guys could tell me.

thanks.

Foil is expensive and so is the degreaser. you're planning to diy it
maybe reason being is to save cost. Maybe by sending to the car wash
people, it will turn out to be the same cost. To save cost, you can use
plastic bags. Recycling is one good way...

The two easiest ways of removing rust from your car engine is either by sandblasting or by using a high pressure washer. You can also do it by directly spraying the affected area with natural auto rust remover.
