wow... 14k , u must have some impressive equipment.

For me, DIY is just too much trouble, too time consuming and mostlikely
you won't have the proper tools to get it done in 1 day. Rather spend a
bit let the installer sweat it out. That's my stand,... others find it
challenging and more fun to DIY ...

I think the bottom line in ICE is not the money (although I believe SQ can
be bought). It is how you make a 3k system into a 6k sounding system or a
14k system into a 28k sounding system. That's the challenge. Like sharky
says, ICE 1k also can play, 100k also can play. The day you are satisfied
with your system and feel it cannot be improve anymore, that is the day
you leave ICE.

And I believe our jedi Jerry is trying to turn his 6k system into a 20k
sounding system !!! Hehehe Big Smile Where is he these few days ?

I started this project about 2 years ago. 14k is the equipment that i
have in my car right now, i didnt even bother to count the grand total of
what i`ve spent. mistakes are too painfull to be told. Bruised ego you
know, no to mention getting conned because you didnt do enough research.
I still got couple of illusions woofers lying in my room, didnt know what
to do with it. In 2 years i`ve lost Clarion VRX835 (the most painfull), 4
channel kenwood amp and kicker comp VR subs which i installed it for like
1 week before it was stolen (wierd thing is the bastard didnt even take
my DLS speakers). Sh1ts happened i guess, put a brave face and go on.

I agree it`s a challange, but it`s not fun... esp when you ######ed up
something expensive. Too much money, too much time, i hate myself...

I can't agree more with the no fun part. Then again there are people out
there who totally enjoys it...

imo, if one cannot find any fun from what he/she is doing, no point
continue doing it. y not just leave it and find something else to do
which can cheer you up Cool ICE is a never-ending challenge. have fun
with it!Smile

I guess it's a matter of pride, ego, getting the job done and "saving
face" LOL. I told everybody that I'll finish this system myself and by
god, come hell or highwater I'll finish it myself. Didnt care how long
it'll took me, just as long as it's finished.
