sometimes it`s up to the person`s ears. when it comes to sound, each of
us have our own personal taste, some like it bright, some like it
natural, some warmth and some bassy. from my experience, you should
listen to different kinds of speakers/amps/players (where possible)
before deciding which to buy. expensive doesn`t always means it suits
your taste.
most of us have the habit of "upgrading" sound system after listening to
the same setup in the car for a period of time. we`ll want to try to
improve the setup to make it a higher level of quality.
bear in mind that the same setup (amp/HU/speaker/etc) doesn`t sound the
same from one car to another due to the design space of the car.
it`s funny sometimes when we spend so much on our car, our ears play
tricks when we listen to our friend`s basic sound setup and it sounds
just as good without all those expensive stuff.....geez.....
also do go to a reputable shop where the boss knows how to tune the sound
system "to your liking". not to his and not to other people, but only
for you. agree with pras, start small, upgrade later then you won`t feel
the pinch. When we upgrade one item at a time, we will appreciate and
feel the difference bit by bit.
