As long as your car refrigerant is pure and dry R134a with the right
amount, compressor using PAG oil viscosity ISO 46 with the right amount,
dryer changed when necessary, expansion valve working properly, no leak
in hoses, o-ring and cooling coil, and with necessary routine service,
your car aircon should be in tip top condition. I have no comment in any
other modifications.
Just for some sharing. R12(CFC) was used to be called gift from heaven
when it was discovered and it was the first refrigerant used in
automotive aircon, then the ban was started in 1994 when it was known to
be depleting the stratospheric ozone layer. Dupont discovered R134a(HCFC)
as replacement and made multi billion dolar when they became the sole
producer worldwide. Then in year 2005, Dupont was told by the authority
to cut down production when the EPA found that R134a is one the major
culprits of global warming, but they can't totally stop them from
production until a new reliable substitute is found. Dupont closed down
one of the two plants in USA and price for R134a was surging 100-200%
worldwide. Then when China's production came into the picture, price
dropped again, but it's purity is certainly in doubt.
HC(hydro carbon) was once considered as replacement but after some
lengthy debate, it's called off due to it's flammable risk. Now the
experts from the United Nations are looking at R744(Co2). So don't be
surprised if R134a is to be replaced soon.

I knew Ayie when he was just running a small car repair shop in Bukit
Raja when he knew nuts about car aircon. My business associate Ronnie Ng
(Retired Hicom GM) was the one who supplied him the machine and educate
him a lot about car aircon, assisted him in development of the business.
This young malay chap shown his wilingness to learn and his enthusiasm
made him who he is today. Interestingly Ronnie became his bapak angkat.

Hi all,
Any idea on how to judge whether the compresser is Denso or Patco?
My ride is wira 1.5(MMC).

Guys
This Aircon Station is very very close to where I live. I'm interested in
trying his service. How much more exactly is the cost compared to other
'normal' shops? Does he do R12 systems too?

Is this his website
http://www.aircondstation.com/
This is closer than I thought. I think I`ll just drop on the way home. BTW
the service cost is in the website. I wrote too soon.
