was at home-fix @ 1 utama and saw some meguiar's products. thinking of
buying a can of wax but there are so many to choose from, such as
cleaner/wax, gold class wax, nxt, etc. also planned to buy the car wash
shampoo but also don't know which 1 to buy. they have both liquid and gel.

can someone pls advise me on this? just want to have the shampoo for car
wash and the wax for waxing. is it good enough??

Dear Atah,

For car wash, I am looking at the NXT Generation Car Wash but can't find
it anywhere in Malaysia yet. So, I am using Deep Crystal Car Wash now. Or
you can try their Rich Suds Shampoo. Both will be fine.

For Paint Cleaner, I am using QD with clay bar(depends on the level of
contamination), ColourX or ScratchX.

For Polish, I am using #7. Even though it is harder to remove, but I like
the watery shine compare to Deep Crystal System Polish. Or you can try #
5, New Car Glaze in Pro line.

For Wax, I found Medallion Premium Paint Protection is the best, better
than the gold class and NXT Generation Wax, maybe it is just me. Better
in terms of durability.

For daily maintenance, nothing beat their Quik Detailer. Keep a bottle
in your car, whenever there is a rain, use it.

Oh, not forgetting their NXT Wax Booster, SUPERB ! Dry very fast and can
be buff off easily.

Ok, washing then straight jump to wax...if you don't have the luxury of
time, then it should be ok, but NOT advisable. If after you wash and you
don't remove those dirt which already penetrate your clear coat paint,
then the wax will simply "lock" it in your paint. You don't want that,
right ?

For people who don't have much time, I suggest, wash, QD and Wax. Skip
the polish part.

Hope this helps...

nxt wash + nxt/meg #26 tech wax....leave gold class alone as it's has mild
cleaner in it and poor durability.

zhao yun, i found nxt car wash at home-fix 1U. Cost me about 36 or 38 for a
huge bottle. Value for money indeed.

As for what polish or wax to go for, determine your needs, then only look
at the products.

Hi ZhaoYun,

Would like to clarify on the paint cleaning part:
1) What will the QD with clay bar do?
2) Do I need to apply it onto the whole car after washing?
3) Under what condition to use QD with clay bar, ColourX or ScratchX?
4) How about for new car with no visible dirts on the surface? Do I need
to use the QD as well?

Thanks....
