[Can anyone enlight me whether i can use "Meguiars 'new car glaze'"
and "Meguiars Cleaner WAX" together??]

Not recommended, the glaze will be removed by the cleaner wax, so you'll be
wasting product.

Cleaner wax is the 2 in 1 type of wax (clean + protect). NXT is synthetic
polymer..it has 'mild' cleaning properties as well

Quote:// How does a polish and glaze differ?

Meguiar's uses these terms interchangeably, hence the name of our most
popular polish: Mirror Glaze #7 Show Car Glaze. Remember that whatever you
call them, "polishes" and "glazes" are different from "polishing compounds.
" Pure polishes (like the ones Meguiar's offers) are non abrasive and
totally safe for your finish. They're also essential to assuring the
highest gloss and longest life from your paint.//

yes you are right about putting New Car Glaze first but the culprit here is
the cleaner wax, this will remove the glaze that you put on previously. You
should get a pure wax (i.e. the wax without any cleaning properties), if
you wanna stay with Meguiar, I would suggest Meg #16, I love this wax :)
superb beading. or you could even use Nxt wax, btw what colour is your
ride?

Hi fulat. If the cleaner wx is unused, u can try to return it to ACE. And
then try to get a wax. Something like Deep Crystal Step 3, or NXT wax is
recommended. Most important is, you must not forget a cleaner too.

Good luck. So the proper step is to wash, clean, polish and wax. If you
have not detailed your car for a long time, the first time, it is
recommended to clay first.

hi fulat. too bad ace refused to take it back. How lonf was it purchased
before you returned it?

In fact the way you are alternating between cleaner wax and new car glaze
is ok. Y not try cleaner wax first, then only apply new car glaze on half a
bonnet. and only cleaner wax on the other half. That way, you can see if
there is a significant difference. If the cleaner/polish combo works, then
you can use that. Or if there is no difference, then stick with cleaner wax
only. As this will save you some amount of work. Or you can reserve the
cleaner wax for other cars. :P

Remember, to rub the polish in with a good foam pad or good cloth to ensure
that you don't scratch the car surface. After rubbing it in, remove without
waiting for it to dry. No harm letting it dry, but it will be harder to
remove and tends to haze up the finish. This will require additional effort
to remove.

Dun forget that once you applied the new car glaze, you will want to
protect it with a wax.

Oh and on your question of the difference between cleaner wax and NXT wax,
I shall attempt to descrive a bit. Cleaner wax has cleaning properties. It
cleans your paint surface and also protects it at the same time. NXT wax is
a polymer sealant which (if I remember correctly) has no cleaning property.
As it is a polymer sealant, it will provide longer protection for your
paint finish than a normal wax. NXT is kinda expensive at 80 ringgit a
bottle. But it is really easy to remove. For more information, do check out
www.meguiars.com and browse through the product info you are looking for.
Hope this helps.

I cant find much info (other than www.goodlife.com.my) on Perma Glass
Polymer Sealant - Platinum.
The Platinum version is more expensive and I dont even know why!! But I
still bought a bottle. Disapprove

Anyway ... before I apply it ... is it good? I mean for prptecting the
paint work? I am not a expert detailer and just want to ensure the paint
on my new car is protected.

Hope I can get some advice from the experts :p

Thanks!

I just washed and waxed my 7 year old car (first wash in 4 years other
than dirty rain and spot cleaning to get rid of bird droppings and first
wax in 5 years), and will do my 2 month old car next week. I don't
really care if I make a mistake on my 7 year old car. Any wax is better
than none (I have not waxed POS in 5 years anyway). I do not want to
scratch the paint of my new Accord. So any tips or suggestions will be
helpful.

For my old car: I washed the old car (did not get it very clean) with a
high powered spray detergent and water. I drove around for a bit and
then went home. Before I started to wax the car, I ran my hands over and
found lots of dirt. I used some glass cleaner to spray on the car and
wiped off the dirt with paper towels. I then used Meguiar's Cleaner
Wax. I put it on with a towel and wiped it off with a clean towel. I
then touched up a few paint chips with a touch up brush. I finally used
Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax for a second pass and wiped it
off. POS now looks better than it has looked for years and looks cleaner
than my 2 month old car.

Okay, looking at Meguiar's site, I found out that I should have started
with Deep Crystal System Paint Cleaner, followed with Meguiar's Deep
Crystal System Polish, and finished with Meguiar's Deep Crystal System
Carnauba Wax. I found out about the steps after waxing my car.

For my new car, should I just use step 2 (Meguiar's Deep Crystal System
Polish) and step 3 (Meguiar's Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax) of the
Deep Crystal System for my new car? The paint is new and the car should
not need a paint cleaner. I did wax my new car 2 weeks ago with some old
turtle wax. I will not use paste wax and it is too difficult to buff
(too much work - I lazy) and the buffing can result in scratches.

Should I use some other product? What else is good? I already have
Meguiar’s Deep Crystal System Carnauba Wax and want to use it up. I will
not need to use the Cleaner Wax for my new car. What I want is some
sealant that will protect the paint for months. I am not a car wax fan
and will probably wax my cars once every 6 months at best. I will
probably keep waxing my new car until I get lazy and will then wax it on
a semi-yearly or yearly basis. I waxed my old car once a year for the
first 2 years and then could not be bothered to wax it after that. So
what I need is something that will seal and protect the paint the longest.

Thanks,

Ron
