Had a look at the preview of the Honda Civic 2006 in Autocar magazine
(November edition). It looks like Honda has a real winner ! Sentra's,
Lancer's and Corolla's look ancient compared to this beauty. I hope that
Honda Malaysia will not bring a stripped down version into our market.
That would be a real shame.

Yeah it will be a ashame. I hope Honda is not so dumb to bring in strip
down version as well as put on a very high price tag. I am sure with the
right price, this baby is going to sell!

Cheers..

There is a very significant mistake in the Autocar mag for Civic 2006 and
that is at the specs. It states VTEC and when it should be i-VTEC.

Honda will not bring in a reduced specs Civic 2006, we have City and
Accord as the example. So, we will be enjoying a safety Civic 2006 with
six airbags and engine that rocks with fuel economy.

The price, I am definate HM will fight for a lowest possible.

You are right man. The Honda Civic 8th generation rocks! I think the car
has a some resemblance to Subaru Legacy, especially the head lights.
Imagine dark blue with golden rims....just like Subaru WRC. Can wait for
it to arrive in Malaysia.

The 8th gen Civic is categorise as Mid Sedan vs the older model as
compact sedan. Wheel base is longer and size increased. So, for those who
paying for this car is getting a size of an accord. Well, that would be a
problem actually between this 2. Anyway, the spec will saperate them
apart.

I had a comparison last night of Civic 2006 overall length with current
Altis and apparently Civic is shorter and the width is wider for Civic.

But I like the wheelbase being longer, meaning more room and the track is
wider meaning better road holding.

I love the the new civic. Actually I cancelled my Innova after I saw the
Civic. I just hope that the price is right ... I loved to have one.
Anyway I am going to book one after the Raya and keep my fingers crossed.
I just hope Honda knows what the Fans wants...

cheers..

*places a request for a stripped version with a manual*

had tons of fun with an EF and EJ civic once. DX-spec with DOHC engines...

kntsy, you are changing from a quite huge MPV to a mid size sedan. Isn't
that a vast difference? I like the interior of Innova but I don't need
such a bulky vehicle. Why you choosed Innova the first place, for space?

If you are sacrificing space of Innova for the beauty of the interior and
the superiority of the engine that of Civic 2006, also PLUS the new taste
of brand H rather than the old T, then bravo....bravo...way to go
man...cheers.

Malbest, the new Civic is longer than Altis in total length, wheelbase
and all other aspects except the height as Altis is really tall. I think
the dimension provided in Autocar mag is wrong, I have checked the Honda
Japan website.

See the dimension below I got from there:

New Civic
---------
Length 4540mm
Wheelbase 2700mm
Width 1750mm
Height 1440mm
Treads Front/Rear 1500/1525mm
Ground Clearance 150mm

Altis
-----
Length 4530mm
Wheelbase 2600mm
Width 1705mm
Height 1480mm
Treads Front/Rear 1480/1460mm
