Guys,
Does anyone own a car polisher? I mean the handheld machine, not the
business lah.

Been hand-waxing/polishing my car all these years and find it a little
tedious and time-consuming. Can't afford to spend 3-4hours washing,
drying, and then waxing the car by hand.

I know it is not necessary to wax after each car wash, but I wash my car
once every few weeks. A car wash without waxing, to me, is like going to
the toilet without smoking. It is just not right as far as I'm concerned
lah.

1)Is it really useful or leceh to use the machine?

2) Will it cause swirl marks? Any steps to prevent swirl marks?

3) Any brands to recommend? Are the spare "sponge" readily available?

Feedback from anyone is highly appreciated. Thank you!

i have a Bosch polisher....have been using it for few years already.

1)Is it really useful or leceh to use the machine?
Useful = yes, i find that wax and polishing the car will be more even.
and the best part is that i could save a lot of time.

2) Will it cause swirl marks? Any steps to prevent swirl marks?
swirl marks?...make sure the sponge you use is clean and doesn't have any
dried wax/polish from the previous job.

3) Any brands to recommend? Are the spare "sponge" readily available?
I bought an additional bosch sponge for about 30 bucks. The bosch
polisher
set i bought comes with a wool buffer for final touches as well.

Machine any day....

Just use a proper one.... mine's a DeWalt but I reckon Black and Decker
and Bosch are ok
too. Before the machine it used to take an hour at least to polish my
car.

Now- 15 mins. 90 mins including wax (which has to be done by hand because
I'm on the
AutoGlym stuff).

Go for it dude!!!

Hi,

Some motorcyclist was trying to avoid my stopped car, couldn't stop in
time, so he swerved, hit my Kancil (2002 model) at the rear right corner
(grey section, bumper still untouched), and left his tyre marks. What's
the best way to get rid of the marks? Will simple detergent do the trick?

Thanks.

Use diesel. Best for dissolve rubber/tar.

But it also dissolve paint too.
So wipe a little bit on the rubber , not on the paint.

Guys, thanks for your responses. However, the marks are not on the
paintwork.. they are on the grey part of the bumper.. don't think that's
metal.. Don't know what material is that... what about using scouring
pads and Vim?

smallbug: with scouring pads and Vim (Vim somemore!!) all you will get is
a
teribly scratched bumper!!

kena that before, but bicycle lah, guess wat i use, a pencil eraser!!!
lightly scrub it and its like brand new!! i use the rubber type not those
rough type. just ask your little brother for any eraser with ultraman on
it
and that will do the job. hope it works with yours!! good luck!!

anyway if the grey bumper is those plastic type (usually it is) then don
use any polish/wax on it!! it will leave a darker stain/mark on it. and
that is like forever imprinted on it!! beware!!
