i can comfirm still so far no solution for the problem we are talkin
here. wegro still do not know anything about this "KLOK KLOK" noise
problem. anyhow after me they only lodge a complain to HM and conclude to
me its the mounting problem and the parts need to be change. sigh...i
feel hopeless after seeing what they do. They tighten my front suspension
for the second time after my initial complain! but this time they add
some grease to my mounting (as if tat gonna help). Luckly i insist to not
leave the car overnight !

hey chunwei. tis klok2x sound u r experiencing is new to me. i suspect
could be suspension mounting is not done properly so when car is going
thro d speed breakers, it is actually "rubbin" on yr wheel arches. do
check yr wheels around the plastic cover arches if there r signs
of "friction rub". tat could be it. another possibility is the suspension
spring is not properly fixed so its knocking on to a plastic part. i
experienced tis in my civic ek b4.

as for the tak2x sound my car dont hv tat sound. but it also boils down
to d way v drive. dont la go thro speed bumps or uneven roads at 40km/hr
& above. my previous ek i used to do tis even on new set of gas absorbers
but within 3mths suspension koyak. my mechanic advised to drive the car w
care, not like mini bus or suv. it doesnt hurt to slow down at such poor
road conditions cos such "stressful" events will reduce the wear & tear
life of the mechanical parts. even honda engineers hv admitted for the
tyre type & road conditions they hv put soften suspension settings on the
1.8 cos fr my readings, 1.8 cars in other countries are harder. softer
car suspensions are also more susceptible to wear & tear.

when pandan area was under construction for the MRR hi-way. my car
suspension hv to change every 6mths after tat i change my drivin route &
slow down at rough surfaces, my suspension last 2.5yrs b4 next change.

hi edkhor,

you could be right it could be either suspension or engine mounting. but
its kinda coincident that so far both the noise complaint came from the
driver front side and on uneven road even around 40km/h below. I alr had
it check on my 1st service and today. Still no solution. Btw can anyone
tell me bout the steering noise? is it intermediate kinda sound or very
soft sound?

hi chun wei

One SC has replaced the absorbers, inspected the front right suspension
mounting. The prob still persists.

In my opinion, your description of the noise heard is slightly diff from
mine and the rest. But one thing for sure, the noise would sound a little
diff depending on road conditions. I think it's the same source,
mounting, and all noise identified so far is ONLY FROM THE DRIVER SIDE.
This is a sure thing. Unless we are dealing with ONE type noise which is
coming from the driver side, but it is caused by DIFFERENT PARTS, THEN WE
ARE DEALING WITH A BIG PROBLEM, we are not sure which part is the culprit
then.

hi guys

Initially when I posted this prob on 5 Apr I was one of the first few.
Now it seems that more and more are sharing the same problems.

Someone in motor trader forum just reported a new case...

Really hope that finally we got HM's attention to this prob. Heard that
their Thai engineers are in the HQ.

At the moment, no concrete solution yet. They have identified the
mounting as the source but some have changed their mounting (Jacky), but
did not eliminate the sound, only made it softer.

Hope HM can get a revised/much improved mounting and then replace all the
faulty ones. Even if yours is ok now, what I understand from the SC is
that the sound may come later. No guarantee that if you don't have the
sound now, you are safe as the current mounting part is not fault proof
yet.

So to all of us affected, pls keep calling HM or SC and bark them for the
solution. I hope we are near to a solution. Actually we are doing HM
a "favour" as we are helping them to "QC" their future cars.

If this prob is not solved, sooner or later the new civic would be known
as the "eh, that TAK TAK car..the one driver side got noise".

Hi all,

i think the TAK TAK and Klok Klok is referring to the same noise and same
source? is it because we "pronounce" differently here. Maybe i get one
day to record the noise down because i feel like mine is more like "klok
klok" then the TAK TAK. Btw, my SC also said that there are two types of
noise, but mine is related to the engine mounting while another one he
didnt explain to me.

Wah... Cool man sure will talk to my SC. I have spoke to SC chief
supervisor about this problem however he reply is " Drive carefully thru
hump and road hole and be a love car owner" wah lau...don't you think you
drive your car in Singapore road ...if I follow what is he say then every
5 second I have to slow down my car in JB road..

I will record down what they said and pass to SC manager or HM HQ...see
what is so call QUALITY SERVICE...

This noise really unaccepted by Honda car indeed.. paying >100K to get
crash car.

I am thinking to gather all real car onwner name and car plate submit to
HM HQ and remind them we are taking seriusly on this problem and require
them give us a solution by a month. Of course, need all you guys share in
writing letter to HM.

At the same time, I will contact newspaper media see if they are
interesting on this feedback from NEW HONDA CIVIC Quality defected from
HONDA.

Guys, while trying to solve your "klok klok" and trying to reproduce the
sounds, test driving around etc etc... , u might wanna check how well the
car handles the following situations...

(1) Recovering from sharp turn (does your car ROLLL?) especially after an
emergency manuver to avoid an obstacle eg; or while taking corners

(2) Does your car jump off position (sideways) when taking corner with a
dips/small holes/gaps/irregularities on the road?

(3) Has anyone drove up Genting and drive down.. did your ABS function?
At what speed? How is the braking power like? Good?

(4) How do you find your auto transmission gear change while driving up
Genting? Does the 2 only stick at 2, or does it shift down to 1? How long
does your 2 remain before it switch up to 3? Is there enough power uphill
at 3? Can u feel the power coming.. but just didn't come? (like power is
there but not there, ahahhaha crappy transmission)

I just don't understand why HM organize the journalists test drive on
flat highways for the Civic launch, hahahhaa.....
