What do you guys think of the SMART TUNNEL? I would say it is an
alternative way for people to drive in KL but it certainly would not help
in easing the traffic jam. Though im happy that the gov had announced
that the tunnel is NOT for motorcylist and truckers, i am still
interested to know how much do we have to pay for the toll.

There's not much space available for most part of the city and if notice
the way the roads are carved up.

Yes, the cars who use the SMART will directly ended up in the city.

Like the elevated h/way in Ampang, the exits clogs up.

Guess what happens to those who don't pay and uses 'normal' route? Wait
more longer in queue.

traffic jams.

Im not sure how many lanes they provide in the tunnel but judging from
the picture in utusan, I think its just 2. Same like before, they are
trying the easy way out and just by using a 2 lane tunnel. The government
should at least make a 3 - 4 lanes tunnel / highway and learn from the 2
congested lanes at LDP.

There's no point of having 3-4 lanes when the exit just 1-2 lane.
Bottlenecks usually are the cause of the jam.

If you maintain consistency all the way then less likely you would have a jam.

I thought the main purpose of the tunnel is to ease flood.

Improve public transport is the only way to easy traffic congestion..
with the tunnel ... they only shift the jammed location to other place....

i just think that the government cant cope in whatever they are doing
with the increasing number of vehicles today. That is why i strongly
suggest that whatever road construction they are doing today, they should
not think of it as a way to alleviate traffic jam in the coming 2-3 years
but to think for the coming 5-10 years.
