so, how to make those 'F1 racers' slow down and stop endangering other
road users?

a friend told me how he witnessed a pajero going very fast on the hiway
and lost control and clipped the divider and ended up running through a
kenari which was on the left lane...

'so, how to make those 'F1 racers' slow down and stop endangering other
road users?' ~ y2j

It is not up to us to stop them. Who are we? We are not given the
authority to stop such road users. Since when were we appointed vigilantes
by other road users? How to stop it, you say? It all starts at home
whereby good parents should educate their kids on the importance of
civility and morals. Later in life, it is up to the driving schools to
instill and cultivate the correct driving attitude. The police reinforces
driving laws and it is up to them to uphold the law and apprehend those
who have defaulted. Yes, it is a long term process and difficult to
implement. Easier said than done, but I think that this is by far the most
effective method. Antics such as those displayed by tpl and mphs is NOT
the way.

i dont condone what the other two forummers did as well...i was merely
asking opinion on how we can make the road safer...and by 'we' i mean the
nation in general...not road users per se...

nevertheless, i do agree that education begins at home...but again, i have
a anak tok imam friend who is a peeping tom...Frown

There would always be deviants in this society. If not, this world
wouldn't be such an interesting place.

My take on this is slightly different. I won't be bothered about those
who race on public roads so long as it does not affect my own safety. But
if those buggers have an accident, I will definitely not come to their
assistance. I will leave them to suffer the consequences. If they die,
then I will have one less reckless driver to contend with!

Yeah, I guess many of us share the same sentiment as you.
Lets hope such thing does not happen in front of us in which we neglect
our humanity instinct to help fellow beings in distress.

Sigh...

sometimes stop and look or help also at your own risk.

few years back our gang of cars got into a big pile up at 'federal highway'.
they pile up just before entering SJMC. my friend who was dizzy was sitting
on the road divider. suddenly, the opposite lane also got accident becoz
they watching the pile up on our side. luckily another friend pull him away
before the car crashing into the divider kena him. i was last to arrive so
i wasn't in the accident. but i stop to go out and help also scared cars
bang me coz in the middle of the highway, at stretch there cars coming from
kl usually speed very fast.
