Hi BeeG,

The Kulim/Grik bypass is still not opened to public but it has been opened
for motorist to pass through. All users have to be very careful while
using it cos in the event of meeting with accident, the insurance company
will not cover the losses. There are guards at both ends and if you wanted
to know more you can stop and chat with them.

The bypass definitely shorten your journey from Penang to Terengganu and
no more high gradient to climb. Enjoy the scenery when you drive through
the bypass.

Happy and safe journey to you.

Hi Ardenz

Yup quite frequent now. Almost once every 2 to 3 weeks. Miss my family is
the main reason but also nasi dagang apart from keropok lekor. My
colleaques and friends used to ask me to buy for them. Sometimes until my
whole car boot is full.

I am driving back to KT on 15/2. Hope no more jam as experience during
Hari Raya holidays.

Just to check with you, are you very familiar with Cameron Highland? I am
bringging my family there this coming school holiday in March. Wanted to
go this Chinese New Year but hotels and apartments are already fully
booked.

Any interesting place to visit there?

Thanks for your assistance.

HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR TO YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Hi Aneurysm,

What I know from the guard manning the road is that the road is not
officially opened yet but motorists are allowed to use at their own risks.
So just be careful, and enjoy the scenary.

You can easily save about 1 hour depending on your driving style and speed.

Enjoy your journey. There are signboards indicating there are deer
crossing the road.

hi mike...

about CH... well there's a lot to see n do in CH.

the usual things to do n see at CH like flower nursery, strawberry
picking,etc.

my favourite spot is at Cameron Valley tea house which is situated between
ringlet n tanah rata. spend sometimes there sipping tea. another fav place
is boh plantation at Habu. the factory is about 5km from main road. but
the road is super twisty n abit bumpy too.(bus cannot pass, that give you
evidence on how narrow n twisty it is). U can tour the factory n tour
guide will be provided. something informational for the kidz i guess.

the rest like strawberry farm, bee farm, rose garden etc. Oh btw during
school holiday, they have this pasar malam at brinchang. nice place to get
all the flowers, sayur etc as they're generally cheaper.

another interesting thing is kea farm . there r many stalls selling those
agriculture products. in my observation , the further the stall from the
main road, the price is usually cheaper...

have a nice holiday n have a safe journey this coming CNY.have patience
when u pass thru machang. BTW i'm working out try to find the shortcut to
avoid machang.... still no opening yet!!!

Hi Ardenz,

Thanks for the information. My family and I will be checking into
Equatorial Hotel from 11/3. We are staying for 2 nights, then drive back
to KT via CH Gua Musang and I will try to see whether Gua Musang Kuala
Brang road is ready or not yet. From the AW forum I learn that the
scenary is very beautiful.

Hey if you happen to be in CH during that time just call me at 017-
9639088 to get to know each other and of course may be for a cup of Boh
tea.

As far as I know there is still no way to avoid Machang and of course the
famous Machang 'grid lock' during festivals seasons. sigh! This is life
in Malaysia. Don't complain too much.Blackeye

i think during this upcoming sch holiday i will be in that vicinity, in
central perak maybe (just hope there will be no last minute outstation
trip of sch things like that!!).

will give u a call...

enjoy your trip eastward during this CNY n Sch Holiday.

Btw if u take the CH-GM road, just beware about all those downhill bits
esp the one after Blue Valley n Post Brooke. The road could be slippery
due to gravel strewn by construction work or mud from timber truck..

otherwise, enjoy the road. in my opinion it's much nicer than EW Hiway.

and pls FR about the GM-KBrang road.
