yeah lx470 is a nice dream... but at least u now have a vios, a
toyota...
so just have to upgrade abit to lx....Smile.
U must be very adventurous to try that road. so from jb u drive up north
to east coast n took the detour via gua musang to jeli n took the east west
hiway?... that a very very long way ...but doesn't matter as u r on holiday
n timeframe is not a big importance.

i guess you must be an avid fishing kaki, or else there's no need to go
back to temenggor again, right?

as pdmsm1 said, the fastes way is via NSE to K kangsar . from KK to
Temenggor dam via lenggong n grik. you can stop at tasik raban too.

why not try another route, via central pahang ( i think Raub's famous jambu
madu is in season now) n to gua musang. from gua musang take the new road
via cameron to ipoh....took nse, exit at KK...n from KK to grik n temengor
..Big Smile

have a nice trip

Usage of NSE is definitely a no-no to me unless I am in a hurry. Beside
expensive to use the road, I find the road boring and worst, on certain
stretches, the road is CEMENTED thus irritating. I always wonder why only
some Malaysians can think of this idea why not the Mat Sallehs. If
cemented roads are really that good why I couldn`t find it in other
countries.

Ardenz, Potong has made you think Toyota cars are good/luxurious. It`s
just a cost-downed family car (too bad, not in My).

I don`t fish, it`s cruel. I enjoy driving and the super nice scenery of
the lake. It really makes feel like living in the heaven. Been there?

Yeah. Last year I travelled via JB-Tampin-Bentung-Raub-Kuala Lipis-Gua
Musang-Jeli (u-turn half-way thru)-Kuala Kerai-Kota Bahru (stopover)-Tanah
Merah-Jeli (reached at last) & Temengor.

the nse is a timesaver.... nothing more n nothing less... but in saving
time u waste ur money paying the ugly tax.......

The cement road idea was mooted during the first cement glut. when perak
hanjoong etc come onstream in mid eightees, price war due to oversupply
came. and the big G instead of importing expensive bitumen/tar, opted for
cheaper cement. Yes, the ride is annoying, making even the best riding car
sound/feel lumpy.... and i belive the tyre ware is marginally heavier on
cement road...

tasik temengor/lake banding are... yeah been there . it's even more fun on
bike... you can layan corner...try to take it flat out(on cubcai, bukan
superbike!!!), or at least pretend to be....petronas station at tasik
banding is a wajib pit
stop to relieve the bladderSmile...

wah, your trip must be really interesting. those r my favourite road too.
use to take east west hiway alot to travel to ipoh/penag, back then , but
now mostly take a gua musang simpang pulai road.. it's faster and the road
is nicer too.

so when is the trip?

oh yeah! the Grik to Jeli road was one of my favourites. Tried it out even
before it was completed in 1984 and have been on that road many times
since. Do you guys know it rises to >1000mtr at a certain stretch just
before Banding lake driving from west to east? The scenery is also one of
the best, alas, haven't been there for a few years now. Plan to make a
visit in Dec though and return via the new Gua Musang to Spg Pulai (the
new east-west road)
Ardenz, yeah these roads would be biking heaven, sparse traffic, long
sweeping bends, uphill/downhill. Do they still have the "Elephant
crossing" signs? Yes, stopping at a high point to view the Banding lake is
rejuvenating, too. Haven't tried the Gua Musang to Camerons sector yet,

yeah, they still have those gajah melintas. once i took a friend from
penang to east coast via that road. he make a point to stop at that
particular sign totake his photo. and we did just that.

biking on that road is an amazing experience....eventho u only have suzuki
best or RG sport 110... not an R1 or zzr750...but you still feel like scott
russel.....Smile

the highest point is above 1000mtr...at the army camp before the rest
area.just beware of those downhill stretch, esp after rain had fallen.
more so when you travel in december, the peak of north east monsoon.

enjoy your trip...

if u reached my place, gimme a call. i belanja you air kelapa muda n
keropok lekor.....Smile

Kesedar Inn? The water level of the river at the back was so high when I
was there last year.

Hello guys in Kelantan, is it musim tengkujuh now?
