As far as I know, J5 cater for the smaller tyre sizes and Formula D05 the bigger sizes. To me J5 is just entry level tyres. If priorities is for daily drive, quiet, comfort and durable should be okay....

Dunlop J5 is a good tyre. extremely value for money as it's made of silica compound. personally using it on my BLM after 4 years on Michelin XM2. wet grip is on par with XM2, and is very very quite n comfortable. side wall softer than XM2 and dry grip slightly less than XM2. i bought 185/60R14 for RM120/pc only excluding GST.

new generations Dunlop are made by Continental, same factory that produce Conti, Dunlop n Viking (ex Sime Tyres). they dont spend much on marketing so the savings are passed to the customers in terms of much cheaper selling price.

definitely would recommend this tyre.

based on my understanding on these 2 comments, i would believe michelin energy xm2 is much better option compared to dunlop sp sport j5 in term of performance.

my brother in law also using saga blm, tire size 175/70R13

Choices available now are :
1. Falken SN832i
2. Dunlop SP Sport J5
3. Michelin Energy XM2

4. Bridgestone Ecopia EP200
5. Continental EcoContact 5

6. Hankook Kinergy Ex (H308)

7. Kumho Solus KH17

i know this tire size profile do not have any performance tire.. just want to seek an opinion, based on the tire listed above, which would u guys really recommend.. i really would like to consider XM2, but based on others review, XM2 is just entry level tire.. just checking kumho official website.. KH17 is catogorized as HP tire..

my priority is always concerning on safety, especially this car just accident at gerik last month.. as starting last month, east peninsular m'sia started raining season.. he just accident alone, during cornering.. perhaps the car skid little bit during cornerning and he lost control.. and upon checking, both tires already reached TWI.. i guess it is time to change new tire.. any review & opinion are much appreciate. thank you..

both front tires already using Dunlop Sport J5. while both rear tires, using XM2 but already reached TWI.. should i advised my brother in law to stick back with XM2 or change to J5. OR, should i consider another tires like BS Ecopia EP 200? comparing between XM2 & EP 200, which one would you think much more perform better in traction & grip?
