From experience, certain stretches of the LPT do not channel away rain
water. Instead, the water become puddles that pose real danger to the
motorists. While going fast while raining is wrong, the worst thing is
the fact that this new highway has such obvious defect. I don't remember
going thru standing water on PLUS or even the older Federal H/way. If any
of you remember, someone (powerful enuf to be called 'somebody')
complaint that the LPT was 'bumpy'.
So don't be too quick to put the blame on the users. By doing so, you're
just parroting the government and heap all the blame to the drivers. The
h/way shouldn't be that way in the first place. The fact that it is
should give us clue of the real culprit that cause accidents not just on
the LPT, but many other roads all over the country.

wanida,
Condolences... my friend was also killed at KM202 a few year ago. Location
is from Maran towards Gambang, it goes uphill a bit, turn right and
starting to downhill, with rocky hillslope on both side.
Travelling ~200km... feel bored ? But I don't have that feeling when
driving from KL to Pg, or Pg to KL, or KL-JB or JB-KL, or even Kuantan-KL.
Only KL-Kuantan has that feeling.
