Evening guys,

My 2009 Myvi aircond stopped working yesterday (no cold air), and went to a shop to have it looked at. The mechanic gave a quick look and said compressor is not working, (showed to me with a torchlight) and started quoted me prices for replacing one.

Recond: RM 460 plus RM 550 for services, the complete one, where he will take out the dashboard and stuffs. He quoted me exact RM 1000 to do it.

I figured the price for the compressor is OK. But is it really RM 550 for full service? Kinda expensive.

Need advice from you guys in here, is this standard? I dont really mind if it is, just dont want to be ripped off. Is it not OK to just replace the compressor without the full service? And how can I be sure that it is actually the compressor that needs replacing? Instead of just oiling it or something like that.

Really need a good honest workshop in Kota Damasara area. Any suggestion?

Hope this is not too late. It may or may not be compressor problem. Unqualified mechanics always use this compressor konk as universal reason to ask you change things.

If you hv not repaired it, can try this shop at PJ State (beside 7-11, across the road from PJ Civic Hall). Honest and competent guy with a few helpers. Please go there early. Google this "Hinly Accessories & Electric" and you see its location in Google map.
