Hi All,

I bought my Honda hybrid insight in March 2012. 2 months back, my car fuel consumption is getting higher and also some noises occur (I assume the noise came from the tappet) so I acknowledge this issue to Honda dealer. And after they verification, they stated they need more time to check on the fuel consumption but they solved the noises matter. They stated had change the parts by claiming warranty from Honda Malaysia.

So recently they came back to me on the fuel consumption issue. They stated need to take out the engine and to do checking and this definitely would cost a lot according to the dealer. And so they make a report on my car status and request for warranty confirmation. Honda Malaysia stated a No warranty claims due to inconsistency servicing my car. They expected myself to service my car on time. Example when your mileage reach 10,000km, you need to exact timing to go for servicing as for my case I exceeded a few time. I'm using fully synthetic engine oil.

Do anyone encountered such matter?

All warranties come with terms and conditions. By not following the recommended service intervals you have given them the perfect excuse to void yours.

Consumers are the small guys. Car distributors are the big boys and they always win.

Agree with bro. Breadman, if you have voided your warranty then they have reason not to approve your claims. I see that you have passed the service interval a few times therefore not much you can do about it.

Anyway I will transfer you to Honda forum, maybe you will get more response from there.... smile_tongue.gif

My practice for the car under warranty, service the car earlier than manufacturer schedule, and also never add in any non authorized accessories during the period, so their have no reason to void my warranty.

Hi, you exceeded in mileage or timing for your service interval. Im driving Cr-z year 2013 and i also feel that it does not make sense to service my car every 3 months/5k. Im using fully syn oil and i have to service my car every 3 months with mileage just about 2000+/-. Last service I drove longer about 4 months plus only service my car(mileage still under 5k) and Honda void my free labour cause i exceeded 3 months. Hopefully they won't void my 5 years warranty. If really void, then no point i follow back that stupid 5k/3months service interval for the next 4 years. Is good if 10k/6months like new civic, accord, city.

Hopefully can get more feedback from some Honda owners who experienced this before.

Thanks

Even changing the alloy rims can void your warranty. How ridiculous.

It is good in a way. It saves me money. smile_big.gif

Nice?

This is warranty issue where honda assure it safe fuel though service is inconsistent, however honda could not deny the warranty it issued. If warranty is void, honda shld hv infmd u in writing to terminate the warranty. Pls refer warranty void in the service booklet and for sure there are no clause warranty is void due to inconsistent service. There are cases in US consumer won the legal suit due to warranty issue of fuel saving. Warranty is a guarantee by manhfacturer that the car is fuel saving and excuses of inconsistent service is a lame excuse by honda

My honda insight the cvt transmission gearbox broke down at 96,000 km and honda mtr denied the warranty due to inconsistent service. However, the inconsistent was the engine maintenance but for gearbox service was done at 40,000 & 78,000km. The engine is fine but the rod in the gearbox was broken. It is a warranty issue but honda is trying make me like a fool. Service maintenance must be agreed by both parties therefore if sign the service booklet, u are bound by the contract but if u dun sign then u can challenge them bcoz service maintenance is not a contract that u must send the car to honda service center.
