Nothing wrong I can see with those top-end choices. Certainly using 'ye olde' 20W-50 engine oil as 'recommended' in the Persona handbook would'nt be the smartest move in the cooler climate I live in.

Personaly, I use Carlube's 5W-40 Triple R Full Synthetic engine oil, (it's of adequate quality and well priced in the UK) combined with a genuine Proton oil filter when under warranty, now using K&N PS-1010, (which is no more expensive here)
although I have found cheaper WIX oil filters to be good quality also and would'nt mind using one.

Using a Simota for the air filter, as K&N for Campro IAFM is not available in Europe.

Still using Mitsubishi/Proton SP3 ATF which is not cheap here, but I'm happy with not mixing with different types of ATF.

i use few oil ranging from petronas to mobil to liqui moly to torco to motul.

now with imported Kendall 10w40
cuz their distributor here partly sponsor me for my race car satria Neo. so i get to purchase their good oil for my persona bit cheap.

btw, good oil by conoco phillip.

oil filter will be proton ori or UMW OEM kit.
ATF oil will be pennzoil syn ATF. because its affordable & proven. compliance with Sp3 rating and slight cheaper than proton oil. hehe. summore i personally tested it, stretch test it on track and on the street.

my point is. any good reputable oil is ok as long you follow the viscosity requirement and interval change requirement. engine condition also play important roles in your car such as cooling system & parts condition.
stay away from recycle oil & MLM oil.

test method : full running, gauge meter, oil press temp, oil temp, dyno. circuit racing, traffic jam driving, uphill & downhill touge. tongue.gif
