My 2011 Accord VTI-L has a vibration problem when the engine is in idle mode! The vibration is more annoying when the drive is put to D with the brakes pressed on and especially more so when the A/C in on. I'm lucky as car is still under warranty but running out of luck soon, up to end of April only. They initially checked the engine mounts and said it looked ok. So far I've had the radiator mount replaced, power steering rack replaced and power steering pump serviced but the vibration problem still persist. Now they are checking the valve tappet clearance as the next step ... Anyone has gone through similar problems with their Gen 8 Accord? I have a feeling it has to be the engine mounts but HM putting that as the very last resort only!

Forgot to mention that they cleaned the throttle body as well but vibration still there. The power steering rack replaced and pump serviced due to another issue. I had this squeaking noise when turning the wheel and it turned out the steering pump was leaking.

Hi lelynx,

The vibration was felt at the steering wheel not the pedal. I finally got HM to replace my engine mountings and am glad to say the vibration issue is solved now smile.gif In total, 5 rubber mountings were replaced but the one that was faulty were the one for the tranny! Car feels really good now after replacing all mounts and adjusting tappet clearance smile.gif

If you know outside mechanic you can asked them to remove and check one by one, but after 5 years most would have been torn and worn. If not they would have harden by now. If the vibration is irritating best you change all the mountings

Best to check properly, because say if you change 2pcs only the other 3 may not be in good proper condition and then the vibration still remains will be wasted effort

One thing I know about mounting from my Mitsibushi is they have 3 types, cheap China ones, OEM and MMC from Japan. MMC ones expensive but last longer, OEM mid price durability not too bad but cheap china one cannot last so may not be good because you waste your time and still have to pay for workmanship
