hi guys,

the forum seems quiet for a while...???.

just to share my experience on using YOKOHAMA C drive 2 tyre...
Change to Yoko somewhere in Sept last year and since my trajet is only for 'balik kampung' and long distance (rarely), the Yoko is only abt 10-15% used. I was unlucky twice- last month and last week two of the Yoko burst during driving and I had to drive to the roadsides. Such short drives to the roadside has made one tyre 'koyak' on the side whlie the second time the inside was filled with rubber dust...
the YOKO has very soft sides and I think is not suitable for our 2 ton trajet....So maybe you guys should consider this the next time u need tyre change..

Since trajet tyre size has limited brands & limited shop selling, today I changed to a 17" size rim using korean tyre, costing RM2000... (hopefully they will not have significant impact on FC...)..so here is my new look trajet...

hi,

have used the stock Trajet size (215/65R15) Yokohama C-Drive a while back - while the tyre has good grip, comfortable ride and reasonably quiet, i may have to agree that the sidewalls may be a bit on the soft side.. had the same problem - after about a few months of use, the one of the tyre burst after hitting a kerb, the sidewalls punctured beyond repair.

replaced with Falken Ziex 912 after that, no issues with the original Japan-made tyres, which lasted about 45,000kms. replaced with similar Ziex 912, but after 3 years later, the tyres are no longer from Japan, but from Thailand (and priced slightly cheaper from the original Japan-based tyre). only used for about 2 years, with 15,000kms clocked... was driving on PLUS highway recently and it burst on the way down after the Menora tunnel in Ipoh.. luckily it was the rear tyre so the 'Jet didn't spin out of control, managed to bring the 'Jet to a stop on the shoulder...waited for PLUS Ronda to come by and assist to change the tyres.

now using Michelin Energy XM2 (replace the burst tyre) on the fronts, and remaining Ziex 912 on the rear. will swap out for XM2 when the Ziex 912 tread runs out.

true not too many choices for the 'Jet's stock size 215/65R15 - but lazy and don't want to spend more to change the rims. the other choice i have seen is Bridgestone Ecopia EP200. maybe will stick with XM2 this time around.

cheers.

Conti CC5 are entry level tyres same as Yoko A-Drive. C-Drive 2 are mid range tyres, sure better loh..... smile_tongue.gif
