Siew,
I can only comment on the ASX 2014 ( 4WD ). The FC for this car is pretty bad. I haven't own the car for long enough to give a better estimation but this is what i can comment on so far ( its my wife's car and I seldom drive )
- City drive 2WD / 4WD mode in rural domestic ride < 8km/L ( travel distance around < 5km daily )
- City drive 2WD mode ~ 8km+ / L with heavy traffic ( travel distance around 30km )
- City drive 2WD mode ~ 10km+ / L with light traffic ( Travel distance around 30km )
- Long journey drive from Pg to Sitiawan 2WD mode ~ 10km+ /L
- City drive 4WD mode ~ 9km+ / L with heavy traffic ( travel distance around 30km )
- City drive 4WD mode ~ 11km+ / L with light traffic ( Travel distance around 30km )
- Long journey drive from Sitiawan to Pg 4WD mode ~ 12km+ /L
I don't know why I am seeing this as everyone claimed 2WD mode should have better FC vs 4WD but both my wife and myself are experiencing it the other way round and have better FC when driving with 4WD mode.
- 4WD mode also offered better pickup / power vs 2WD driving mode.
- Be aware that 4WD model are around 100KG heavier than the 2WD model, 4WD model would still have the center drive shaft spinning even when driving in 2WD mode. So a 2WD model would have better FC in comparing with 4WD model even if driving the 4WD model with 2WD mode
- Average FC on the ASX somehow got reset overnight and hence we cannot really get a better accumulated average FC for the whole tank.
hope these helps
lastly, you might also want to consider Subaru XV, it carries almost the same price with the ASX 4WD model after massive discount.
