I am seriously considering buying a beetle 1.2
Are the 1.2 Beetles in Malaysia affected by the DSG issues?
Or are there any other annoying issues that comes with owning the new beetle in malaysia?
Help me make my decision if i should buy a beetle!
Thanks!

hi,
firstly, y u need to get a bettle. it is because of the iconic design? if so, then no choice and go for it. DSG is something you have to take the risk. or get the 2.0TSI model which DSG is not an issue.

been driving one for the last 6 months..
other than the design and the acceleration it provides with a 1.2 engine, there is nothing extra ordinary of the car..
DSG issue i suppose its down to luck..
if you are single, and wont mind the 2 doors, and the rm145k price is affordable,i would say go for it..it feels much more luxurious/comfortable compared to other cars in the rm145k range in my opinion

VW will stop producing DSG7 (dry) after they've sold all their current stock. which is at least until 2016
in the future their Gearbox supplier has no plans to build anymore Dry DSG for use.
the follow cars in their stable currently uses this faulty gearbox:
- CC
- Passat
- Beetle 1.2, 1.4
- Polo 1.2
- Jetta
- Cross Touran
I would personally advise anyone from buying these cars as these cars have known issues.
