hi all,

A) the alternator is making clicking noise and went to a roadside workshop is checked as spoit bearing. went to toyota sc and they quote replace the whole thing for rm 1k++. i can't remember the exact figure quoted, i think is rm1.3k

what are the options to repair and do you know where is the better place besides toyota sc? i stay in klang but is new to the area.

1. repair bearing only by taking apart the alternator assembly?
2. 2nd hand alternator assembly? - where to find?

cool.gif what is the cost of a reverse sensor for 2005 altis? one side rosak already. cannot detect distance.

C) central locking not working on driver side but can still manually lock and unlock. again toyota sc quote actuator rosak and need to replace. again rm1k++... haiii...
what is the cost outside beside toyota sc??

anybody has simliar issue before? main concern is alternator because cannot drive as battery will die. others will slowly repair.
thanks.

You can try those small car "electrical" shop. Those big shops in KL will change the whole alternator instead of the bearing set.

My ex wajunk has the similar problem with the starter motor bearing. KL shop said they have to change the whole starter motor which cost Rm700+. I drove back to my hometown in Melaka and ask the electrical shop to replace the bearing , total cost: RM100+

As for the actuator and reverse sensor, those accessories shop can replace it with much lower cost. Dun need to go SC la...

Just wondering if you managed to solve this cheaply. If so, kindly share so others can benefit.

Thank you for sharing
