I'm trying to sell a car at the moment. A guy called and wanted to see it so we arranged to meet at a shopping centre. He inspected the car and then asked to test drive it. I asked him to leave his IC with my wife (this was advice I think I read on here) and he refused. I asked if my wife could take a picture of the front of his IC and he refused. We left it at that. I suspect that this guy had a friend around the corner and a car without a licence plate which was parked behind me drove off as soon as there was no deal. Did I do the right thing?

Yes, you did. Better safe than sorry. There are always other buyers, so there is no need to sell this car to this guy.

Scary bro, luckily u met at a crowded place, else he would have just pulled out a knife. Next time, consider taking a sling bag with a small batton / steering lock and always meet in a crowded place with no clear / fast exit routes.

IC / MyKad could also be fake one. Or stolen from somewhere lookalike.

True also with what is happening nowadays. But since he did not want to do it, probably real one.....ha! ha!
