I just bought a polisher machine.
Where can I source the foam and microfiber cutting pad?
I went to lots of hardware shops and they only sell wool cutting pad.

Foam cutting you can get from duragloss or osren.

MF cutting you can get from osren, you have to go there and get as its not posted in their website I think.

I presume your machine is a RB, ROB or DA which fits on with velcro.

The brand I bought called 'Skil', cost me Rm218
It come with the 7 inch flate backing plate and the 7 inch foam cutting pad.
7 inch is too big for me to control and handle. so im planning to buy a smaller size backing plate and together with the foam and microfiber cutting pads.
im also looking for the adaptive backing plate smt like foam backing plate which i saw on the internet. =)

The last time I was there, I don't remember seeing tho. Autobacs SG got la.

Well, like Jonlsl recommended, OSREN, we have a wide range of foam pads from 3" to 8", from China made foams to European and USA foams.

you need custom size, good quality, all come with price.

Else just go for standard woolpad. Wool pad for heavy defect

Detailing is not cheap. Once you go further into rotary, then can do cutting, compounding, polishing and so on then you will need different tools, accessories and products. Different products on different pads also give different results, so need to experiment... smile_tongue.gif

In most case you will never need to use a wool pad. Its very aggressive. Its for leveling the clear coat if there are deep scratches, etched water marks (after foam pad fails to level a deep etch) and removing sanding marks. Then you have to continue to use foam pads to remove holograms.

Personally all you need for maintenance is a med cut pad, like white or green, and a finishing black pad.

But becareful when using the skil RB. Starting RPM i.e. lowest speed is very high 900-1000rpm ( If I'm not mistaken), thus becareful near edges and hard lines on the body work.
