Let's say you have 3 different types of polish/compound with the same level of cut.

Instead of putting 3 pea sized quantity of the same product onto the pad you put 1 pea sized of each product.

IMO, no point in doing the above.

If you want to experiment, you can add a bit of high lubricity/oily glaze
onto your pad that your using to do compounding work. That means "compound+a bit of glaze".
On certain types of crappy clearcoat thats difficult to compound, this makes it smoother to compound, and lengthens the working time.
