Refer to my post under "soundproof" categories, KK Lau is definitely not our choice. The reason I post it here again is I find out that the "soundproof" category is not an active one.

I would like to share my bad experience here so that all the car owners will not be second victim after me.

I will straight away to the point.

1) Soundproof - Good (I can not deny that the sound proof is effective but I believe all other sound proof specialist able to do it)
2) Skill to solve vibration and noises
I will only give 40marks. I sent to him 2 times. He created a new noise after solved the old noises.
3) Handling of car
Very bad!!! My car's interior plastic is full of scratches here and there now. The plastic coating even rubbed out by his rough handling. He keep giving excuse the coating quality is bad, it will be easily rubbed off after aging.
4) Customer service
Very bad attitude. He scratched my car but excused that he saw it when I send my cat there. Hey, if you saw it that time, why not he told me straight away? He said he thought I knew it. 2 serious scratch lines!

As I mentioned above, everyone in the field will be able to help us in sound proof. what can made him an outstanding one is the service quality. When I highlighted problem to him (car noises and scratches caused by him), he keep blaming design of the car, quality of the car materials, etc...........Ok, fine, if he able to solve all the sound, then, it can compensate for the plastic scratches. But, hey, now, noise is not fully solved (money is paid) and car body is badly scratched!

KK Lau is NO NO NO!!! smile_angry.gif

I fully understand how you feel, and feel sorry for the $$ and time that you've wasted, and ending up with more problems.

I've encountered a similar situation:
As a newcomer to owning pets, I depended 80% on the Internet for information and recommendations in looking for a "good" pet-groomer. It was apparent that most pet-club forumers in Malaysia were always talking about 2 pet-groomers who're hyper-active on the Net with loads of their customers chipping in comments. Loads of nice photos and tonnes of comments. Many of my pet owner friends thought that the only worthwhile pet-groomers in business were these 2 places only and they disregarded the hundreds of other pet-groomers in town. My client brought his pedigree Chow Chow there and ended up very frustrated after spending $800 !!!...with damaged/bleeding nails.

Lesson learned:
Keep your mind open. Any business actively promoted on the Net via forums and clubs doesn't necessarily mean it's great. Prominence on the Net is un-correlated to actual quality of work done.
There are thousands of other retailers doing the same type of work out there with far higher quality...albeit with less PR skills.

I went to take my money from KK Lau for the money I spent for removing scratch and recoat SG. He was in a car together with customer. He saw me but ignored me and let me waiting there. I waited for about 5 minutes and saw his wife. His wife paid me the money and keep apologized to me.

KK Lau's action seems like I owe him money instead of him. Hey, even though he paid me the coating cost but I have to spend time and energy to send my car to SG and went to his place for the money. Furthermore, when I sent my car to him, I was suffering for car pooling and yet scratched my car interior.

He has a few customers there when I was there. But I acted the gentleman way. Even he showed me the shit attitude but I would not say something bad in front of other customers. Even though he is disqualified (by me) for rectifying the noises but he may be good in sound system tuning and others services. For me, no matter how good he is, if I know earlier of his "good" service, I would rather use the same amount of money for charity.
