Hi all...

One more question- I have an old Clarion CBus 6 disc CD changer which is skipping badly- can anybody recommend me a place which can perform a competent repair? I tried taking it to Clarion's distributor..... but no joy.

I'm in PJ so referrals to car audio repairers around this part of town would be much appreciated!

Wah! if Clarion distributor cannot repair, outside will need specialist and especially if parts are needed....

No la bro... they said very old model, cannot repair, no parts...... all bull la. It's skipping. All that means is the lens needs to be cleaned and the stepper needs to be serviced and re-lubricated.

They just couldn't be bothered la. I'd do it myself only I'm not sure how to get the thing open!!

Skipping and non tracking sometimes could be the lens weaken. My DVD player, my technician checked for me before. The lens cost more then the set...
Sometimes after cleaning may or may not work properly also. I will try to contact my ex technician see if he can do anything..

What about those lens cleaning disc?

I think lens cleaning disc kenot bro.... because it's a multi changer, by the time you load the cleaning disc in the magazine.......

Please ask your technician... see if he can help!

If you are not able to do it by yourself then you can have it done by a professional mechanic. Online vendors are another option you might consider.
