Hi all,
I'm thinking of buying a new head unit off ebay. It will ship from the US.
I know we cannot use Japan-spec radios in Malaysia.... does anybody know about US spec radios? If I buy this HU, will I need to add something to it for the radio to work or will it not work at all or will it work right out of the box?
Thanks guys

How you been la? Ya la... I been away a very long time- nothing kills your passion for cars faster than a Range Rover bro.......
Want to sell also no one dumb enough to buy......

Anyways.... I need a single-DIN HU with bluetooth handsfree and audio streaming. It doesn't need to play CDs but it needs to be able to control a CD changer. I found a few that I like but hard to get here. E.g. Clarion CZ702A or CZ302A..... no hep, weh!!
I know there are some other alternatives but for some reason I don't think they're official imports because when you look up the model number you find it only appears on (e.g. Kenwood's) Indian website but not on Kenwood Malaysia's website.
Weird......

I am fine, thank you.
Away in the sense out of Malaysia?
Well, you bought one..ha! ha! Actually my friend's hubby just got one not too long ago also.
Yah! those probably parallel imports by others.
If you need to control a CD changer make sure the wiring fits and can control if of different brand (HU and Changer)

No la.... car not working, hard to get enthusiastic about cars, stay away from forum la. Pakai moto instead.
Range Rover easy to buy bro.... mau JUAL punya jam.... aaaaaa.... you wait la.
Actually I given up selling mine so I'm performing an INTELLIGENT and REVERSIBLE HU replacement on it, hence this thread. The Death Star comes with an old Clarion cassette player and 6CD changer (crap) but Harman Kardon power amp and speakers (until today some of the best amps and speakers fitted on a car) so the trick is to replace the Clarion junk with other stuff while retaining the Harman Kardon amp and speakers but adapting the new HU so that:-
1) the original wiring of the Pig remains unmolested (i.e. no potong-potong);
2) the new HU is adapted to cater for the weird input impedance of the HK amps (very weird..... much lower than line level, much higher than normal speakers).
It's been a pain to figure out but I think I've done it.... so now ready la... want to buy bluetooth digital media HU with ability to control CD changer (also have to change la, because factory CD Changer is Clarion CBus which even Clarion doesn't support anymore- sekarang sudah pakai CeNet..... but at least if I go with Kenwood, I don't need to change the wiring).
Ada bro... a LOOOOOOT of research done already.
LMAO!!!!!!
