Hi all,
I own a Isuzu D-Max 3.0. From the owner manual,
1) The front bearing is to be repacked with grease at the interval of every 30000km.
2) The propeller shaft universal joints and sliding sleeve is to be lubricated with MoS2 type grease every 10000km.
My mileage is about 53000km now, and service center never do the bearing repack and lubricate the propeller shaft universal joints & sliding sleeve.
Is it a need to repack the wheel bearing with new grease as per owner manual, or just use until the bearing damage only change it?
How about the propeller shaft universal joints & sliding sleeve? Is it a need to lubricate them?

My front bearing finally kong at 113k, nearly 5 yrs. Didn't notice in the manual and service centre also never bother to service. SC just called. Replacement cost nearly $900 for both sides
Need to check the propeller shaft and sliding sleeve with SC tomorrow. See what they say.
Other than that no major problem yet. Only the auto window gave problem 2x, bracket broke before warranty over being replaced by SC. So far still value for money work horse.

Agree... It is value for money work hose. Lower diesel consumption and maintenance cost compared to other pickup.
Let me know what the service center say regarding the propeller shaft and sliding sleeve. Normally you service at which service center?

Just replaced the front bearing this morning. Total cost ~800 , most expensive cost over 5 yrs. Guess still acceptable if compares with others.
Tip to trouble shoot when bearing kaput:- humming sound when hit certain km/hr. Mine started when reach 80km/hr, deteriorate over few days. Getting louder then 60, 40km/hr also detected.
They say need to grease the propeller shaft n sleeve. Mine no 4WD so no need. But for the wheel bearing, no need to lubricate according to manual, just drive till kaput. Reason is old grease and sediment will fill up the worn off gap. If dismantle and grease might loosen the bearing and cause unnecessary noise. Ok, sound logical.
Kelana Jaya. Quite fast and service acceptable. But the experience mechanic leaving today for good, not sure whether they can still maintain the service quality as not too happy with service of few staffs. Eg battery water overfill till over spill, tyres pressure overfill not according to manual etc.
Local standard cant expect much. So long major parts do it properly n dont screw up
